🔥🚒 If you’ve ever thought about becoming a firefighter, now is the time to take that first step.

With the Volunteer Firefighter recruitment currently open, Kingston Fire & Rescue is looking for dedicated individuals who want to serve their community while building valuable skills, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable experiences.

Being a volunteer firefighter is about much more than responding to emergencies. It’s about training, supporting community events, educating the public, working alongside an incredible team, and making a real difference when your neighbours need you most.

The firefighters at Stations 1 and 2 are ordinary people from our community who balance careers, families, and everyday life while proudly answering the call to serve. They are the faces behind the fire trucks you see responding on PulsePoint, the volunteers at local events, and the teammates who spend countless hours training to protect our community.

If you’ve been considering applying but haven’t taken the leap, we encourage you to learn more about what it means to be part of Kingston Fire & Rescue. You may discover it’s one of the most rewarding opportunities you’ll ever have.

🚒 Kingston Fire & Rescue and the Kingston East Firefighters Association are recruiting! 🚒

Are you ready to make a difference in your community?

If you live in the Joyceville or Brewers Mills area, we're looking for dedicated people to join our amazing firefighting family. As a volunteer firefighter, you'll help protect your community, build lifelong friendships, learn valuable skills, and yes... you get to wear some pretty cool gear too! 🔥

Qualifications:
✅ Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education
✅ Possess a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence with a satisfactory driving record (0 demerit points upon hire) and the ability to obtain and maintain a DZ licence within 18 months of hire
✅ Meet the prescribed hearing and vision requirements
✅ Speak, read, and write English fluently, and communicate clearly under demanding, high-pressure situations
✅ Be physically fit to safely perform firefighting duties
✅ Obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check
✅ Live within the immediate response area of the station being recruited for (verification required)
✅ Work well as part of a team and interact professionally with the public

No firefighting experience? No problem! We provide all the training—you bring the commitment, dedication, and desire to serve your community.

Happy end of school year to all of our students at all school boards in the Kingston area! This past week Kingston Fire & Rescue and its firefighters wrapped up its yearly school year visits including its proactive elementary school presentations and school fire truck visits! 👩‍🚒🧑‍🚒

After a busy year, we hope all the teachers and students have a safe and fun summer vacation. With kids no longer in schools we encourage all residents to drive safely in neighborhoods and be cautious of kids playing in the streets!🏖️

We look forward to starting it all again next year starting September! Stay safe! 📚

**Happy Father’s Day!**

Today we celebrate all the amazing dads, stepdads, grandfathers, father figures, and mentors who make a difference every day.

A special Happy Father’s Day goes out to all the firefighter dads of the **Kingston East Firefighters Association** and **Kingston Fire & Rescue**. Thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to keeping our community safe while also being role models and heroes at home.
