❤️ THANK YOU, CALGARY ❤️
As we wrap up the 2026 Canadian Bowler Open, we just want to take a moment to say thank you.
This was our third Canadian Bowler Open, and every year this event reminds us why we love doing it.
The weather certainly didn't make things easy for us this year. There were challenges, changes, wet greens and plenty of moments where everyone just had to roll with it — but through all of it, the attitude of the players, volunteers, clubs and supporters was incredible.
And when we look back on this week, that's what we're going to remember.
We had an amazing time. The competition was fantastic. There were a lot of laughs. New friendships were made, old ones were renewed, and once again we got to spend a few days surrounded by some pretty awesome people from across the bowls community.
A massive thank you to our three host clubs — Calgary Lawn Bowling Club Rotary Park Lawn Bowls and Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club - Calgary . You opened your clubs to us, welcomed our players and helped us make this event happen. We couldn't have asked for better venues or hosts.
We also need to give a very special thank you to Matthew Huebert and Bob Selzler.
The amount of work that goes into an event like this happens long before the first bowl is delivered. Matthew and Bob were a huge part of making this year's CBO happen, helping us with logistics, sponsorships, planning and countless things behind the scenes. We are incredibly grateful for everything you did.
To all of our sponsors and supporters — thank you.
Whether you contributed financially, provided prizes, food, drinks, player gifts, giveaways, services or simply stepped up and asked, "How can we help?" — you helped us give our players an experience that was about much more than just the games on the green.
We wanted this week to feel like an event.
You helped make it one.
To the volunteers at all three clubs — you are absolute stars. ❤️
You looked after us. You looked after our players. You helped with greens, food, scorecards, setup, cleanup and all the little things that most people never see.
Events like this simply don't happen without people willing to give their time, and we hope you know how much we appreciate you.
Our livestreaming plans took a few punches from Mother Nature this weekend! 😂 We didn't get everything on the air that we'd hoped to, but hopefully everyone watching from home still got a chance to see just how competitive — and how much fun — the Canadian Bowler Open can be.
A big thank you to Clarky from Matts Jacks & Balls for jumping in with commentary and technical support and helping us bring as much of the event to everyone at home as we could.
And finally, to our players.
Thank you for trusting us with your weekend.
Thank you for travelling to Calgary, competing hard, supporting one another, adapting when the weather changed our plans, and embracing what we're trying to build with the Canadian Bowler Open.
This event exists because you keep showing up.
Three Canadian Bowler Opens down, and we're incredibly proud of what this event is becoming.
There are always things we'll learn from and things we'll try to make better next time. But sitting here at the end of another CBO, we're mostly just feeling incredibly fortunate.
Fortunate to have the support we have.
Fortunate to work with some amazing people.
And fortunate to be part of this bowls community.
From both of us — thank you for making the 2026 Canadian Bowler Open one we'll never forget.
See you on the green. ❤️
