Studies In Comfort Studio is a place where visual arts and music are made. Worlds are created and destroyed. Lives begin and end. Where the heart and soul reside. Studies In Comfort, a duo which began with Ryan Nyenhuis & Ian Levack, specializing in experimental music and sound manipulation in January 2007, has since become a brand of creative outputs, including: photography, painting, digital art

, writing and mixed media. On June 15th 2008 An awful tragedy occurred. Ian's best friend and brother of 15 years and founding member of Studies In Comfort passed away after falling 60 feet to his death at the R.L. Hearn Thermal Generation Power Plant in Toronto while him and Ian were exploring the old coal burning facility taking photographs of the urban decay. Ryan was 27 years old. Ian survived the accident having been two feet behind Ryan when he fell and to this day Ian continues to share the story from his perspective and photographs that Ryan took with hopes it can inspire people to rise up above their own terrible traumatic experiences and push forward with their goals and dreams and understand that it’s okay to talk about and share it. Ian continues on with the goals and dreams he and Ryan set out to do with Studies In Comfort after rebooting the unique brand in 2016. Two of the greatest of humankind's inventions has been the creation of music and visual arts. By being able to share thoughts, feelings, emotions and to evoke that within one another allows us to relate, to tell our stories and create with each other. Studies In Comfort is defined as the study of one’s comfort levels and emotions. All forms of art are studies in comfort. Hourly Rates:
• Music Production / Sound Design / Audio Engineering / Vocal Recording / Acoustic Instrument Recording / Electric Guitar Recording: $50/hr (starting rate)
• Wedding Photography: $1200.00/4hr or $2400.00/day
• Graphic Design: $50/hr

I need to somehow get my “foot in the door” with music production and sound design.

I am incredibly talented, multi talented and multi disciplined. I own very high end music studio production equipment with a knowledge of how to mix and master music correctly using a pair of Mackie HR824 MK2’s.

I know how to operate and own multiple Moog Synthesizers and Roland Drum Machines and have a understanding to how sounds work together.

I own a Audio Technica AT-4040 Cardioid Condenser Microphone which is phantom powered with ability to record sounds and instruments to 128dB. Complete with isolation shield and pop screen filter.

I have a vast understanding of the Reason Digital Audio Workstation.

I can’t read or write music theory but some of the greatest of all time never needed it. Including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Hanz Zimmer, Danny Elfman, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton and even Taylor Swift.

I am the owner of Studies In Comfort and Studies In Comfort Studio.

I have the life experience, personal work experience and am constantly thirsty for knowledge and want to do all the really time consuming tedious hands on work required to producing award winning music.

I have vision, determination and a wild creative imagination.

I know fundamentals to package design and can create it. I have self taught Illustrator and Photoshop skills. I have been doing all this since I was 19 years old. I’m now 41 years old.

Individuals that have the piece of paper from a school or institution saying they can do something don’t have what I have and I believe it intimidates some. The piece of paper is completely useless in my opinion in a world with YouTube and word of mouth sharing knowledge.

For all of those who have been rejected or humiliated. For all of those who are screaming to be heard. For all of those souls that are disgruntled and exhausted.
