🎶 Maracasalsa, by Lora Douglas

The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) performs Maracasalsa by composer Lora Douglas. This captivating work for 4 guitars draws from the rich heritage of Maracatu, a traditional rhythm from northeastern Brazil born from African cultural practices. Douglas brilliantly fuses Brazilian percussive rhythmic patterns with Western classical forms such as the toccata and fugue.
