An amazing surprise while trolling for Salmon! 🐲

We started the day further offshore with the boats, but as the fog continued to roll in thick we decided the best way to not get steam rolled by a boat was to hug the rocks so at least if they couldn't see us, they'd know where the rocks were! 🤣🤣🤣

30 feet of water and hugging a kelp bed, flirting with disaster and BANG! The rod goes off!

It may not have been a Nookie, but you'll never see me being upset hooking into a chonky Linger!

Mission Accomplished!

FINALLY got my Nookies after battling through Coho after Coho after Coho for days!

Decided to switch gear after all the Coho and threw on an Irish Cream Glow Back Skinny G paired with an Blue Oki Squiggle Flasher.

Only 5 minutes later WHAM!

Kayak Fishing is more than just catching fish, it's the struggle, the sweat, sometimes the tears, the packing 200lb kayaks up and down to the beach, the losing more fish then you land, that make this sport so insane yet beautiful!

Because when you do finally catch that fish you've been after, it's that much more rewarding, and what keeps us coming back time after time!

If it was easy, everyone would do it!

Welcome the newest star of KC Kayak Fishing!

Only 13 and she managed to land her first two Copper Rockfish without any help from Dad, in some nasty conditions on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.

Unfortunately she lost a gorgeous Lingcod at the surface, but the one that got away is what keeps us coming back!

Congrats Maci! And thanks for helping to fill the freezer!
