TRIGGER WARNING: Why do we see ourselves as failures?
We are our own worst-life critics. We only see ourselves as the main causes for everything bad, because of this we develop depression, lack of interest and other psychological issues.
We ask ourselves "why cant our brains be wired to combat this while in this" well, we can. But it is incredibly difficult. It's like trying to dowse a out of control wildfire with a little but of fire.
You cant just turn the off switch easily, it is a long cycle of raging torment through past trauma. Trauma that happened when you were a child, also known as childhood trauma can control your life if not managed and it can be one of the main causes on why our brains think we might be failures.
Trauma can happen at any age, not just in your childhood. Trauma happens from verbal, physical abuse, neglect, extreme violence, CSAM, mistreatment; to further understand how trauma can change our moods there are several sources that you can benefit from reading. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK207191/
