How it started/How it's going

The position of the protagonist as she is sitting on the toilet looking at her cellphone is modelled on that of Pandora from Thomas Benjamin Kennington's 1908 painting.

The diner scenes in First Night were shot over a one-night shoot at a place called Euro-Deli on St-Laurent boulevard in Montreal.
I'd been a regular (at least once a week) at the place for over a decade (possibly close to two) and even partly wrote the script there. The scenes were written with the place in mind.
A few months after we shot the place closed down.
That place had my favorite beef tortellini and lasagna.
Tonight I'm really craving that lasagna.
