Fixing fence after the neighbors bulls did some damage to it. A big issue is this small pasture is fenced with page wire since I initially ran sheep in it. It holds the cows in well enough, but the bulls destroyed it.
I have so many projects for the farm. The barn roof is dismantling itself, one shingle at a time. The haybarn behind me is missing 25% of the walls, shelters are falling down. And so much fence to be replaced or fixed.
Now that I have the freedom to make the changes and fixes I need to, I’m frankly overwhelmed with the cost and workload it’s going to take. I know I can get it done, and it’s the right step in making this a long term and profitable venture. It’s easy for me to want to buy more cows with the current market prices but if I am being smart, I will take these good paydays and use them to upgrade my infrastructure, pay down any debt I have and really get my ducks in a row for when the less profitable years roll around.
