Calmar-based physician Dr. Nhung Tran-Davies has been named as one of the recipients of the University of Alberta's Alumni Honour Awards.

Dr. Tran Davies has dedicated her life to enriching the lives of others, not just through her medical practice, but through various philanthropic ventures that have seen thousands of dollars raised for underprivileged children across the globe.

She arrived in Canada when she was just five years old after her family fled Vietnam in the aftermath of the Vietnam War.

Leduc RCMP along with community partners conducted a one-day initiative earlier this month aimed at enhancing community safety.

"Project Street Light" took place on October 10 and resulted in five arrests, $5,500 in fines, 29 violation tickets, six life-safety supply packages provided, three tent encampments dismantled, and more.

Saudi Arabia just changed the game. The Kingdom plans to build the world’s first “Sky Stadium”, floating 350 meters above ground in its futuristic NEOM city. The structure will hold 46,000 fans and become a key venue for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, with construction starting in 2027.

Leduc's new 65 Avenue Interchange is now open as of this afternoon.

Motorists will be able to utilize the new interchange to travel between the City of Leduc, Leduc County, and Edmonton International Airport. The major project will be fully wrapped up in the coming weeks as finishing touches, such as landscaping, are now being completed.

The City of Leduc saw a slight increase in voter turnout during this week's municipal election when compared to 2021.

Data shows that the turnout for Monday's vote was 28.5%, which represents a 1.5% increase from the previous election.

The ALERT Internet Child Exploitation unit has laid an additional 86 charges against 49-year-old Campbell Fergusson.

Fergusson, a resident of Leduc, was originally arrested for luring and making child sexual abuse material earlier this year. He now faces a total of 113 charges and is set to appear in court this Friday.
