Valentine's Day is coming sooo soon! What day could be better... chocolate, flowers, time with your favourite person, and more chocolate. π
In all reality, we love Valentine's Day. I never understood the hype growing up (aside from the candy of course), but now it's become a favourite holiday in our home. We take the day to focus on each other and spend some quality time doing things we love.
Our tradition since getting married is to cook a fancy meal together. It saves us the hassle of getting a reservation and allows us the opportunity to try new recipes while spending time together in the kitchen. We love it! We're thinking Italian this year. π
If you're stumped for ideas or want to try something new, here are few other date options for your Valentines Day this year...
π€ Hit the road for a day trip! Maybe throw in a picnic if the weather allows. Or try a staycation in your own city. Go all out and treat yourself to a true tourist experience.
π€ Learn a new skill together. Do some painting, try baking a cake, sign up for a pottery class, or go rock climbing. So many things to try and it's extra fun when you're both beginners!
π€ Pick up a new board game and a favourite snack. What could be cozier than a games night in?
π€ Do a fondue night! We looovveee making chocolate fondue with all the fun dippers. Some of our favourites are strawberries (duh), croissants, dried mango, shortbread cookies, and marshmallows!
π€ Recreate your first (or best) date! So much nostalgia. For us that looks like hiking up Crowsnest Mountain so I think we will pass, at least until summer rolls around. π₯Ά Maybe for you that's going back to a favourite restaurant or local spot. Grab a picture and compare to one you may have taken way back when.
Whatever your February 14th looks like, we hope it's filled with lots and lots of love (and chocolate). π
