We had an amazing turnout for the first Open Mic on our road to the realm series in Fredericton last night! Thank you to the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick and to all of you writers that came out to read your work! A big thank you to the lovely audience that was supportive, engaged and all around great people! And finally, thank you to the Cap for your space and to my amazing festival team: Cassie, Daisy, Deepika, and Rey. We look forward to doing this again soon!

Lots of great events coming up in the next few weeks starting this weekend at WordSpring 2026! On top of the Book Awards and many other fun activities, we’ll be there hosting a workshop at 10am entitled “Marketing VS Publicity for Indie Authors”. This is your chance to learn more about getting yourself out there and how to connect more with the community and readers around you. Contact Writers' Federation of New Brunswick to register spots are limited!!

The next big event is Open Mic that we are hosting at The Cap in Fredericton alongside the Writers Federation and Writers of the Realm Literary Festival & Fantasy Ball where writers of all types get a chance to share their work aloud in a relaxing atmosphere!

I had an excellent morning with My Ignite at the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce, participating in their Women’s Economic Empowerment Program panel discussion. It was a privilege to share my experiences as a business owner, connect with other inspiring entrepreneurs, and hear the incredible journeys of women across our community. I’m grateful for the opportunity to encourage and support other women as they pursue their entrepreneurial goals and dreams.

Our little short film is making its way around, and it's only the beginning of submissions! This film was made in 3 days, is a true indie-made film and carries a story that some of us are oh-so familiar with.. "that NEED to be seen", but at what cost?
Tomorrow our film will compete in Kyoto, Japan, and we can't wait to see where else it might pop up. This was the first film I edited myself. I'm used to just directing and producing, but I wanted the challenge, and it was super fun—especially adding the music! Congrats again to my New Brunswick cast members and to Andrew Chislohm, who handled script supervision and on-set help! And thank you again to the Jane LeBlanc Legacy Fund for their assistance! A great start to our filmmaking on the East Coast of Canada.
