📢 Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive – North vs South Lindsay! 🥫🏆

Mark your calendars! The annual door-to-door Thanksgiving Food Drive for Kawartha Lakes Food Source is back and happening on two dates:

📍 South of Colborne St. Lindsay– Saturday, Sept. 27th, 2025
📍 North of Colborne St. Lindsay – Saturday, Oct. 4th, 2025

It’s a friendly North vs South competition to see who can collect the most food — and this year’s goal is 15,000 pounds! 💪

🕙 Please place your food donations outside in a visible spot by 10 a.m. on your area's collection day.

📝 Be sure to label your bag/box: "Kawartha Lakes Food Source."

✅ Donations must be:
Non-perishable
Unopened & undamaged
In original packaging
Within expiry date

🛒 Most needed items:
Canned vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, soup, baked beans
Peanut butter, jam, condiments
Pancake mix, syrup
Rice, dry pasta, pasta sauce

Vanessa Murphy - Radio Host : Premier Doug Ford is over speed cameras — and he’s ready to pull the plug.

On Thursday, he announced that his government will soon introduce legislation to ban automated speed cameras, calling them an ineffective "cash grab" and suggesting municipalities are just shaking down drivers for extra revenue.

Hwy 115 closed at the split down to Concession 8!

CLEARED (11:47 p.m.): All lanes on Highway 35/115 have reopened. ^pia

UPDATE (8:17 p.m.): The northbound lanes of Highway 35/115 have reopened while the southbound lanes remain closed between the split and Concession 8 following a collision. ^pia

UPDATE (3:20 p.m.): Highway 35/115 remains closed both directions between the split and Concession 8 for the removal of debris following a collision. The closure is expected to last for several more hours. Further updates to follow. ^pia

UPDATE (1:54 p.m.): Highway 35/115 is now closed between Concession 8 and the split , due to multi-vehicle collision that involves a tractor trailer rollover. Several individuals were transported to hospital however injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. ^pia

ROAD CLOSURE: Highway 35/115 is closed in both directions in Orono from the split to Skelding Road, due to a tractor trailer rollover. A load of gravel is believed to have spilled across the highway but the extent of any injuries is unknown at this time. Motorists are being urged to avoid the area. ^pia
