MEET WASUK 💛🎾 A Battersea woman using tennis to build confidence, connection and opportunity in our community

🎾Wasuk Sule-Pearce runs free tennis sessions for Black women and girls, creating a welcoming space where they can learn, play, connect and grow, whether they’ve played before or are picking up a racket for the very first time.

🎾But Wasuk is much more than the woman you’ll see on the tennis court. She is also an academic, author, publisher and community leader, whose work brings together education, representation and opportunity.

🎾She founded WGS Publishing and is a Director of the Centre for Access to Sport and Education (CASE) C.I.C.

🎾Through tennis and her wider community work, Wasuk is helping to open doors, build confidence and create opportunities for others — right here in Battersea. 💗

✨️Meet Sayra, the lovely owner behind Coffee & Lochma Battersea, a Turkish coffee cart now set up along the Thames Path by Battersea Bridge (south side).

Together with her friend, she’s created a beautiful little spot serving Turkish coffee, fresh lochma and savoury snacks ☕️🍩

🌸With spring here and longer walks along the river ahead of us, this is the perfect place to stop, slow down and enjoy something delicious.

Looking for a creative activity for your child in Battersea? 🎭✨

Italia Conti Associates Battersea is hosting a FREE Open Day this Saturday, giving children the chance to try their performing arts classes.

Classes are available for ages 3–18 and include a range of styles taught by industry professional teachers.

The Battersea school is run by sisters Debbie Folan and Linda Edwards, and is part of the renowned Italia Conti – one of the UK’s most respected performing arts institutions, founded in 1911.

📍 Location: KLS Studios (Katherine Low Settlement), Battersea High Street
📅 Date: Saturday 14 March

Children can take part in a free trial class and experience the fun, creativity and confidence that performing arts can bring.

If your child loves dance, acting or performing, this could be a wonderful opportunity to try something new.
