Well, it's been a rollercoaster waiting game for the last few weeks. Being told you have cancer immediately changes your perspective on things and going through all the tests and waiting is sure a challenge. I can't believe the percentages of men who get some form of prostate cancer these days and I have known so many people over the years who died from it.
Turning 55 at the end of this Month I am so glad I listened to my doctor and decided to get checked out. Having the biopsy done and then being told they found cancer cells in my prostate sent me on a whirlwind of emotions. Then doing the rest of the tests to find out how bad and whether it spread anywhere was hard.
I am very relieved to find out that it has not spread anywhere and is in the very early stages, which means I do not have to go through radiation treatments, just a surgery to remove the prostate and that should also remove the problem.
To all my male friends out there.... get checked.... Finding it early will save your life....
