Resetting the mind, one downshift at a time. 🫀💨

There is a specific kind of therapy that only a Civic Si, a third-gear pull, and a sunset can provide. If you get it, you get it.

Honda is reportedly preparing to hit the pause button on its midsize pickup truck, with plans to halt Honda Ridgeline production in the fourth quarter of 2026. The unexpected 18-month hiatus is entirely emissions-related, as the truck’s aging, naturally aspirated 3.5L J-series V6 engine fails to meet upcoming, stricter emissions standards. Rather than permanently discontinuing the unibody pickup, Honda will use this extended timeout to re-engineer the powertrain and roll out a heavily refreshed model in the third quarter of 2028. This upcoming 2028 refresh will feature a much more efficient, updated V6 engine—with strong rumors pointing to a potent V6 hybrid dual-motor setup—alongside aggressive exterior and interior styling changes designed to give the impression of a next-generation truck. The production gap will also allow Honda to shift factory capacity at its Lincoln, Alabama plant to boost high-volume models like the Pilot, Passport, and Odyssey. Ultimately, this temporary departure serves as a vital bridge for Honda, buying the automaker time to develop a dedicated, large-vehicle hybrid architecture for the next decade. Buyers eyeing a current-gen Ridgeline may face a serious inventory crunch over the next year and a half before the electrified version returns to dealer lots.

At its massive Investor Day 2026 meeting in Auburn Hills this week, Stellantis unveiled its ambitious "FaSTLAne 2030" strategic plan, promising a sweeping product blitz that will bring 11 all-new models and 12 significant refreshes to North America by 2030. The brand portfolio is getting a massive influx of cash, with 60% of a massive 36 billion euro product budget specifically allocated to revitalize the American stores and boost overall market coverage past 90%. Jeep enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to with the upcoming return of the Cherokee nameplate alongside the rugged Recon EV. Ram is aggressively expanding its footprint with a new midsize pickup, a large SUV, and a broader rollout of the Maverick-fighting compact Rampage, confirming the rumours we've previously reported on. Chrysler will finally get a lifeline to move away from its single-car lineup, plotting an entry into the affordable space with a new midsize crossover and two compact sibling variants derived from European architectures. Meanwhile, Dodge is capitalizing on the "Brotherhood of Muscle" by expanding its high-performance Hemi V8 offerings alongside multi-energy hybrid and electric choices. This aggressive, multi-energy product strategy represents a calculated effort to dramatically scale up factory capacity utilization across the continent while aggressively tackling affordability with nine new models priced under $40,000.

The rumors were true, and the street truck scene is officially back! Ram has formally unleashed the new Rumble Bee lineup, and it is a multi-tier muscle truck assault. Skip the off-road tires because this widebody pavement shredder comes strictly in a Quad Cab/short bed setup built to corner and destroy the drag strip.

The options list is legendary: you can choose between a budget-friendly 395-horsepower 5.7L Hemi, a mid-tier 392 pushing 470 horsepower, or go completely nuclear with the Rumble Bee SRT. That top-dog SRT model packs a 777-horsepower supercharged 6.2L Hellcat V8, rocketing from 0-60 mph in a blinding 3.4 seconds. With massive Brembo brakes, adaptive Bilstein dampers, and a target top speed of 170 mph, the SRT is officially reclaiming the high-performance truck crown. Best of all, Ram added a rear-wheel-drive mode specifically designed for pure, unadulterated tire-smoking shenanigans.

Throwback Thursday: British Theatre vs. American Muscle 🇬🇧 🆚 🇺🇸

For this week’s , we’re throwing it back to the screaming V8 theatre of the 2022 Jaguar F-Type P450! 🐆🔊

It got us thinking back to our recent review of the all-new Charger SixPack. While America’s newest muscle icon brings that raw, straight-line power and aggressive heritage to the pavement, the F-Type tackles the muscle car formula with a distinctly British accent. It swaps the Charger's unapologetic, brutalist vibe for elegant curves, a lightweight aluminum chassis, and a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system that wraps a sophisticated Grand Tourer around a wild, tire-shredding soul.

Two completely different approaches to high-performance horsepower. One is a refined gentleman with a hidden dark side, and the other is a street-fighting powerhouse.

Which style of muscle do you prefer? The refined British theater of the F-Type or the unapologetic American power of the Charger SixPack? Drop your vote in the comments below! 👇

The legendary Lotus Esprit is officially returning for 2027, reclaiming its throne as the brand's mid-engine flagship and a true analog competitor to the modern supercar elite. Moving away from the brand's recent heavy focus on full electrification, the new Esprit utilizes a high-output hybrid powertrain that pairs a mid-mounted, turbocharged V8 with powerful electric motors for a combined output of 986hp. This setup allows the Esprit to maintain a remarkably low curb weight, staying true to Colin Chapman’s philosophy of "simplify, then add lightness" while delivering a 0-60 mph sprint in under 3.0 seconds. The exterior design is a masterclass in modern aerodynamics, featuring a low-slung, wedge-shaped silhouette that pays homage to the iconic Giorgetto Giugiaro original. Inside, the cabin is a minimalist, driver-focused cockpit that blends tactile physical switches with a sleek digital interface. This rebirth positions Lotus to compete directly with the likes of the Maserati MC20 and the Ferrari 296 GTB, offering a raw, mechanical edge that many feel is missing from today's digitalized supercars. By balancing electrified torque with a screaming V6 soundtrack, the new Esprit proves that Lotus is still committed to the visceral soul of the driver’s car. It is a stunning return to form that reminds the world exactly why the Esprit nameplate is so revered.

Big moves from Volkswagen Group Canada! 🇨🇦⚡

Volkswagen has officially wrapped up Phase 1 of its head office expansion in Ajax, Ontario, finishing the build well ahead of schedule.

Here is what the expansion brings to the table:

The Present: A massive 115,000+ sq. ft. warehouse addition, featuring 16 new loading docks and dedicated secure storage for high-voltage EV batteries.

The Past: A deep-rooted Canadian legacy that started back in 1952, now representing Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini, and Ducati under one umbrella.

The Future: This is just the first step of a three-phase project running through 2027, adding new training cells, a technical service centre, and an open collaboration space.

🔌 Connecting the Dots: That new battery storage in Ajax is going to come in handy. Just a few hours down the highway, construction is actively progressing on Volkswagen’s massive $7 billion PowerCo SE Gigafactory in St. Thomas. Having officially broken ground on its foundations, it's on track for a 2027 operational target. Once fully ramped up, it will be the largest manufacturing plant in Canada, built to pump out enough battery cells for up to 1 million EVs a year.

With over 70 years in Ontario, VW isn't just sticking around—they are laying down heavy infrastructure to lead the next generation of North American automotive manufacturing.

What do you think of VW’s growing Canadian footprint and their massive bet on southwestern Ontario? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇
