The Emily Michelle Project isn’t just about home makeovers – it’s also helping grow London’s film and TV industry. 🌟 About a year ago, Scott Brothers Entertainment tapped London-based Broad Films Inc. to connect them with local crews and find filming locations, showcasing the region’s talent and capacity to support major productions.

The Emily Michelle Project is filming in Strathroy, helping homeowners create beautiful spaces on any budget. Premieres April 2 on HGTV and Citytv Plus.

It’s about making a home beautiful on a budget – and it’s happening in Strathroy.

The Emily Michelle Project television series is now being filmed in the town and promises to help homeowners turn a garage sale or Facebook Marketplace find into a showpiece without breaking the bank. “We are wrapping (filming) right now. It is so exciting,” said Emily Michelle, star of the show that bears her name. “Everyone deserves a beautiful home,” regardless of their budget, she said.

The series will premiere April 2 on HGTV and Citytv Plus.

Michelle is also the owner of Blended Living, a retail home furnishings store in Strathroy that offers interior design services. She began her journey into interior design and television in unlikely fashion.

“It all started when I was 18, a high school dropout, teen mom, and I needed to make money,” she said from the set.

“I started thrifting. I had no choice.”

Her breakthrough came with a $15 dresser she bought on Kijiji and transformed using her innate design sensibility. She sold it for $1,200.

“That was it for me. I realized I could make money with things that other people did not want. I was a young mom, I did not have a diploma and I had a lot to prove. It fueled me. It gave me that drive to keep going,” she said.

For Michelle, it does not matter whether a customer in her storefront business or a viewer of the series lives in a million-dollar house or has a limited budget. “They want a nice home,” she said, and she wants to help. “The biggest message is we are taking smaller budgets and making homes look phenomenal with thrifted things. A robust THANK YOU to our producing partners for bringing the first MOW collab into Broad Films in London. It took us 18 months of meetings with the guilds, unions, talking to producers in other small Ontario cities to work through growth strategies to lay a solid foundation in London. We built relationships with local politicians, suppliers and had great support from London’s newly founded Film Office to get to today. We are grateful to EVERYONE for the collaboration- hard work and foresight. For a couple of Broads who work in factual and Reality - taking on a narrative was a leap. Suzanne Berger & Jordana Aarons your support unwavering. Very Merry Mystery synopsis:
Beloved hair salon owner Bea, famed for her attention to detail, hairstyling prowess, and
love for Christmas, attends a Christmas murder-mystery party when the host vanishes and a ransom note is found in her place. This forces Bea to team up with her newly promoted detective boyfriend, Troy, to crack the case.
