Autism and synesthesia linked
One thing I’ve learned as an autistic and ADHD adult is that a lot of the struggles we deal with are misunderstood by people who have never experienced a neurodivergent brain.
Things like sensory overload, executive dysfunction, emotional regulation struggles, masking, burnout, social anxiety, rejection sensitivity, routines, and mental exhaustion can affect daily life in ways that are difficult to explain to other people.
For years I blamed myself for things that were actually connected to autism and ADHD.
I thought I needed more discipline, more motivation, or to “try harder.” What I actually needed was understanding, better systems, realistic expectations, sensory support, and recovery time.
The more I learned about autism, ADHD, nervous system regulation, sensory processing, and mental health, the easier it became to stop fighting my brain and start supporting it properly.
That changed everything for me.
A lot of neurodivergent people are living in survival mode without realising it. Constant masking, people pleasing, overstimulation, burnout, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm can leave you exhausted even when other people think you are “doing fine.”
This is why education and self understanding matter so much.
You are not lazy.
You are not broken.
You are not failing.
Your brain may simply need different support systems.
That is why I create content around autism, ADHD, neurodiversity, coping strategies, confidence building, emotional regulation, burnout recovery, sensory processing, and executive functioning. I want more autistic and ADHD adults to feel understood and supported instead of ashamed.
