TOMORROW experience an electrifying night of psychedelic tropical grooves, explosive rhythms, and global sounds designed to move both body and spirit.

Sunfest London is thrilled to present Empanadas Ilegales , a psychedelic tropical music collective formed in 2017 through late-night jam sessions and rogue rooftop gigs in Vancouver. Made up of musicians with roots in Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, and Canada, the band creates a vibrant collision of sounds where cumbia meets surf rock, salsa intertwines with Persian melodies, and folklore crashes beautifully into free jazz.

From their live-recorded debut Papayón at Vancouver’s Fortune Sound Club to Creepy Mambo and its rooftop follow-up filmed above the city skyline, the group has built a reputation for unforgettable performances and boundary-pushing creativity. They have appeared at major festivals including Montreal International Jazz Festival, Sled Island Music & Arts Festival, Calgary Folk Music Festival, and JUNOFest.

on august 27, 2014, i took a flight to canada not knowing my life would change forever.

the main reason i do what i do is because during these 12 years i built a life here. one that is only mine, one filled to the brim with friends, community and so much love that at times it seems so much longer.

the end of august always makes me sappy, because to this day, even with the growing pains that come with immigrating so far away from your family, i’m still proud of the person that boarded that flight and kept moving forward.

top 3 of 3 🍻 the downtown london patio trail closes out here, milos’ craft beer emporium at 420 talbot st

so proud of this series. three stops, three local spots, ending it at a true local staple that’s been here since 2012, most people walk right past without knowing what’s inside

the patio is laid back and a little more private than the other two. we started with a cold one (250+ ontario beers on tap), then sourdough with compound butter, czech style fried cheese, beer battered fish and chips, and a surprisingly spicy falafel sandwich for the veggie option. dessert stole the show, jelly king sticky toffee cake with earl grey whipped cream

no prices on screen this time, milos is farm to table so the menu and pricing shift with the season. paid with downtown dollars again though

three patios down and i loved every one. one more video coming, a full trail recap, so stay tuned

favourite stop of the trail?
