Hydro One has updated their ETA till restoration to 8:15 PM. We can also confirm a tree had fallen the powerlines due to the strong winds.

Good afternoon we are experiencing a power outage on Highway 17 that is interrupting our service in Manitouwadge.

Service has now been fully restored.

Hydro One has advised that the outage was caused by a tree coming into contact with the hydro lines.

Hydro One has updated the estimated restoration time for the Highway 17 outage.

The new Estimated Time of Restoration is 9:30 PM tonight, September 9.

At this time, we have not received any additional information regarding the outage. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and provide another update if anything changes.

Service has been restored. Hydro one down from Hemlo to White River due to an "Animal Contact".

Big thanks to the Hydro one crews for working hard and restoring the power back to the highway.

Update 1:50 PM:
Hydro One is reporting two additional power outages spanning from Hemlo to White River. Their updated estimated restoration time is now 9:00 PM.

Automated system updates often assign default timelines when an initial target is missed, so we're hopeful service will return much sooner.

7:40 PM Update: We have been informed that the upstream provider is actively working on the issue and has dispatched personnel to one of their facilities to resolve it.
