Amsterdam has approved a €100,000 plan to install tiny wooden staircases along its city centre canals so small animals, especially cats, can climb out if they fall into the water. 🪜🐈

The idea, backed by the pro-animal Party for the Animals and animal welfare groups, responds to reports that at least 19 cats drowned in the canals over six months because they couldn’t escape high embankments.

The city will work with Dierenambulance Amsterdam to identify high-risk spots before installing the steps later this year.

Romania is moving forward with an ambitious tourism project as Dracula Land enters development near Bucharest. The billion euro resort is planned as a large scale destination inspired by Transylvanian legends and European folklore, with an expected opening window between 2026 and 2027. The project aims to attract international visitors by blending myth, history, and modern theme park design.

The resort is set to feature multiple themed lands, dozens of attractions, gothic style castles, dark rides, and roller coasters, along with hotels, a water park, spa facilities, entertainment venues, and retail areas.
