اگے سفر تھا اور پیچھے ہم سفر تھا رکتے تو سفر چھوٹ جاتا اور چلتے تو ہم سفر چھوٹ جاتا منزل کی بھی حسرت تھی اور ان سے بھی محبت تھی اے دل تو ہی بتا اس وقت میں کہاں جاتا مدت کا سفر بھی تھا اور برسوں کا ہمسفر بھی تھا رکتے تو بچھڑ جاتے اور چلتے تو بکھر جاتے یوں سمجھ لو پیاس لگی تھی غضب کی مگر پانی میں زہر تھا پیتے تو مر جاتے اور نہ پیتے تو بھی مر جاتا پس یہی دو مسئلے زندگی بھر نہ حل ہوئے نہ نیند پوری ہوئی نہ خواب مکمل ہوئے وقت نے کہا کاش تھوڑا اور صبر ہوتا صبر نے کہا کاش تھوڑا اور وقت ہوتا صبح صبح اٹھنا پڑتا ہے کمانے کے لیے صاحب ارام کمانے نکلتا ہوں ارام چھوڑ کر سڑکوں پر تماشہ کرتا ہے ہنر سڑکوں پر تماشا کرتا ہے اور قسمت محلوں میں راج کرتی ہے شکایتیں تو بہت ہیں تجھ سے اے زندگی اور چپ اس لیے ہوں جو دیا تم نے وہ بھی بہتوں کو نصیب نہیں ہوتا عجیب سوداگر ہے یہ وقت بھی دوستو جوانی کا لالچ دے کر بچپن لے گیا اور امیری کا لالچ دے کر جوانی لے جائے گا لوٹ اتا ہوں واپس گھر کی طرف ہر روز تھکا ہارا اج تک یہی سمجھ نہیں ایا کہ جینے کے لیے کام کرتا ہوں یا کام کرنے کے لیے جیتا ہوں کیونکہ بچپن میں سب سے زیادہ کیا جانے والا سوال یہی تھا کہ بڑے ہو کر کیا بنو گے بیٹا تو جواب اج ملا پھر سے بچہ بننا ہے
