Medicine Hat – Fight Back Medicine Hat is a coalition of groups and individuals that are opposed to the agenda and direction of the Provincial UCP government, which is exceeding its mandate on every front. These issues include, but are not limited to, a move towards two-tier healthcare, low funding for public education, abuse of the notwithstanding clause, allowing new coal mines on the eastern slope’s headwaters, cuts to AISH, Alberta separation, CPP and RCMP withdrawal, attacks on trans youth and doing nothing about the affordability crisis.
Local organizer Brittany Doctor says, “Working people and families are paying the price while the UCP picks fights with Ottawa, immigrants, people on social assistance, and any other target they can think of.”
On Friday, May 29, in conjunction with rallies in 17 other locations as part of Fight Back Alberta, we will be holding a rally at the College Avenue overpass (Trans-Canada highway) at 12:00 noon to draw attention to this crisis and to encourage more Albertans to get vocal about their opposition to what the government is doing.
Fight Back Medicine Hat is made up of concerned citizens, unions, AWARE Medicine Hat and other groups.
