Watrous RCMP searching for missing kayaker

On June 26, 2023 at approximately 6 p.m., Watrous RCMP received a report of an overdue kayaker.

The adult male told family he was going kayaking on Little Manitou Lake at approximately 10 a.m. on June 26. They called police when the male did not return as expected.

Watrous RCMP have been searching the water and shore for him since, with the assistance of area residents, Humboldt Fire Department, Saskatoon Police Service’s Air Support Unit and the Civilian Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA).

The kayak has now been recovered.

There will be an increased police presence on Little Manitou Lake and the surrounding area as the search for the male continues.
