🌟ARTIST SPOTLIGHT🌟

Every Friday leading up to the Merrickville Festival of the Arts, we will be featuring one of the amazing performers taking the stage. This week's spotlight is Jessica Lavallee, who will be performing as part of the Acoustic Afternoon on Saturday, July 11th!

Born in Newfoundland and Labrador, Jessica Lavallee was raised in Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon on the lower north shore of Quebec. Influenced by many music styles like; classic country, Irish, Blues and Rock, she blends them with her unique, powerful voice and sings stories that stay true to her roots. Saturday, July 11th at the Merrickville Festival of the Arts is the Acoustic Afternoon. If you love original music, this is the perfect day for you.

Three incredible acts performing from 2-5PM. Programming breaks in the early evening so you can grab dinner before returning to the park for our headliner at 6:30PM. Emma Lamontagne is an Ottawa-based artist with an emotionally riveting voice that has received praise from fans who have described her songwriting and stand-up comedy as if she is watching their lives through a camera lens. She is not to be missed.

🌟ARTIST SPOTLIGHT🌟

Every Friday leading up to the Merrickville Festival of the Arts, we will be featuring one of the amazing performers taking the stage. This week's spotlight is Jan's Tunes, who will be opening our Acoustic Afternoon on Saturday, July 11th!

Jan Bentham is a singer/songwriter from the Ottawa area. She has a passion for storytelling and often writes music for people to celebrate milestones in life.
Jan was raised on country and folk music. Her influences range from Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez to Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard and Celtic music.
Jan has written for the International Prison Chaplains, Habitat for Humanity and PACT (People Against the Crime of Human Trafficking).

🌟ARTIST SPOTLIGHT🌟
Every Friday leading up to the Merrickville Festival of the Arts, we will be featuring one of the amazing performers taking the stage. This week's spotlight is Keith Glass Band, who will be headlining the festival on Sunday, July 12th!

The sound of Keith Glass Band can best be described as rock and roll - with all that term encompasses: R&B, country, folk, blues, rock - all fused into Keith’s original songs. Keith Glass is a founding member, guitarist and songwriter with Prairie Oyster, a group which enjoyed a very long and successful career and critical acclaim, including multiple Juno and CCMA awards. In his post-Oyster life Keith has kept busy with family, building a studio, writing songs, making a couple of solo records, being Lynn Miles’ sideman, producing and playing/singing on dozens of recordings, and playing a few solo shows close to his home outside Ottawa. At the heart of Keith’s music, and the band’s sound, is deep rootsy rock and roll - with all the influences that define that genre - R&B, country, folk, blues, swing - with their own unique twist.

This summer is shaping up to be a busy one for Maple Music Studios! Here is a look at some of our offerings:

Summer Vocal Series for Young Performers - a small group program for children aged 8-12 with a camp-like atmosphere, designed to build vocal confidence, explore harmony, musical theatre repertoire, and prepare young singers for the stage. Monday and Wednesday evenings through July. $500 + HST. Limited to 12 participants.

Summer Lesson Four Pack - four 30-minute individualized voice, guitar, piano, or ukulele lessons for only $100 + HST. Available to new and returning students through July and August.

Free Children's Music Program - on the morning of July 11, we are hosting a free music and movement session for children aged 2-5 (accompanied by an adult) as part of the Merrickville Festival of the Arts. Join us for some singing, dancing, and fun with percussion instruments.

Merrickville Festival of the Arts - we are thrilled to be curating the music programming at this year's festival. Come on out to Blockhouse Park on July 11 and 12 for some fantastic live music, free of charge.

🌟ARTIST SPOTLIGHT🌟

Every Friday leading up to the Merrickville Festival of the Arts, we will be featuring one of the amazing performers taking the stage. Our first spotlight is Emma Lamontagne Music, who will be headlining the festival on Saturday, July 11th!

Emma Lamontagne has reintroduced herself with her new EP title “Inevitable,” a 5-song collection of her life before turning 25. Her emotionally riveting voice has received praise from fans who have described her songwriting and stand-up comedy as if she is watching their lives through a camera lens. She has shared the stage with Donovan Woods, Tyler Shaw, Forest Blakk, Elijah Woods, TALK and many more. Emma is currently deep in the midst of writing her long-awaited sophomore album, which will be a dark, soulful detailing of her feminine experience as she moves through her quarter-life crisis.

There is nothing quite like watching your child take the stage, confident and capable. This summer, we want to give them the opportunity to shine.

Our summer vocal series for young performers is a program for children aged 8-12, designed to build vocal confidence, explore harmony, and dive into songs from popular musicals, all building toward a live performance for families at the end.

Small group. Beginner friendly. Two evenings a week throughout July.
