Let’s Do Lunch! 🥪

A realistic look at school lunch boxes for elementary school kids because feeding kids is hard and food waste sucks.

Between food restrictions at school due to allergies, kids food preferences, no microwave usage at school, and the fact some foods just do not travel to school well, lunches and snacks away from home can be hard for kids (and parents!)

I’m going to share some realistic lunches I send with my kids, and what they actually eat from it.
For reference, my kids are elementary aged and get a morning snack time and a lunch time at school which I pack, and are home for an afternoon snack - which is usually what is left from their lunch box, if anything.

Today’s lunch was a mix of snacks, as is usual with most days, honestly. 🤷‍♀️

I try to give 2 fruit/veg options, a dairy, and a crunchy like crackers or pretzels. The rest is whatever I think will fill their tummies without being all sugar. It’s a balance.

This kid ate a bit leas than I expected, honestly, but I found out later that they are ‘off the cheesy crackers’ - which is typical because i just bought a new box 😂
