Neal Casal (November 2, 1968 – August 26, 2019) was a skilled American guitarist, singer-songwriter, and photographer known for his contributions to folk, Americana, and rock. Born in New Jersey, he played with Blackfoot (1988–1993) before releasing solo albums like Fade Away Diamond Time (1994) and No Wish to Reminisce (2006), which features his reflective track “Sundowntown.” He collaborated with Ryan Adams & The Cardinals and Chris Robinson Brotherhood, and his photography appeared in major publications. After his 2019 passing, the Neal Casal Music Foundation was established to support music education and mental health for musicians.
