The Power of Being Asked is about the few minutes between climbing out of SARA PRICE’s Can-Am covered in mud and picking up a microphone to help host the DirtFish WiM Summit livestream.

But really, it’s about everything that came before.

I didn’t magically become ready when the opportunity arrived. I had spent the last year getting ready for an opportunity like this.

I’m incredibly grateful to DirtFish for trusting me to tell another story and seeing both my words on the homepage today next to WRC & Lia Block is pretty damn cool.

I didn’t become ready when the opportunity arrived.

I became ready in all the small moments before it, the imperfect videos, the practice, the self-critiques and the times I put myself forward before I felt completely confident.

So when DirtFish invited me to host part of its Women in Motorsport livestream and conduct interviews, I was nervous, but I was ready to say yes.

Confidence doesn’t magically appear when the right opportunity arrives, or you get the right outfit or the perfect haircut or the right equipment. It’s built by showing up before you know exactly where it will lead.

That’s the story behind my next DirtFish article (coming soon!) and the idea at the heart of Camera Confidence.

The next cohort will be announced soon. Join the waitlist through the link in my bio. ❤️

There are motorsport experiences you can explain and then there are the ones you simply have to hold on for. 😂🏁

Getting into the car with Lia Block for a ride-along at DirtFish was definitely the second kind.

Experiencing her precision, confidence and car control from the passenger seat gave me an entirely different appreciation for what happens behind the wheel in Rally.

My face probably tells the rest of the story.

Soooo…should I buy a rally car now? 🤔

What happens when women from across motorsport gather in one place?

You get rally cars and ride-alongs, workshops and honest conversations, shared knowledge, new friendships and a room full of people making this industry feel more accessible simply by showing others what is possible.

This was my third DirtFish Women in Motorsport Summit, but my first experiencing it from this side of the story.

I had the opportunity to be part of the livestream, interview people from across the industry and help share the careers, stories and experiences that make motorsport so much bigger than what happens on track.

Seeing myself on the broadcast with my name on screen and the event’s sponsors surrounding it was a completely surreal moment. But the moments I keep thinking about happened between the scheduled ones: the introductions that became real conversations, the questions people were brave enough to ask and the ideas that continued long after the cameras stopped rolling.

One of my favourite interviews was with a little girl who confidently picked up a DirtFish microphone and told me exactly why she was there (and has been for the previous 3+ years)! That moment captured what this Summit can do: make motorsport feel tangible, approachable and worth imagining yourself inside.

My biggest takeaway from the weekend is that access changes things.

Sometimes seeing someone in a role helps you imagine yourself there. Sometimes one conversation gives you the confidence to ask a question or take the next step. Sometimes walking into a room where you know almost no one becomes the beginning of an entirely new chapter.

I know that because this Summit did that for me.

Thank you to the entire DirtFish Women in Motorsport team, the partners who made the weekend possible and every person who shared their knowledge, their story or simply made space for someone new.

There is so much more from this weekend that I can’t wait to share. 🏁

If you attended, what are you taking away from the Summit? If you followed along online, what part of motorsport would you like to learn more about?

And that was just Day 1. 🥹

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me exactly why I love this industry, incredible conversations, new connections, old friends, fast cars, and a whole lot of “this is exactly where I’m supposed to be” moments.

Today is the MAIN event at the Women in Motorsport Summit at DirtFish, and I get to spend part of it helping tell the stories of the women who make this industry what it is.

Workshops. Conversations. Livestream. Interviews. And probably a little chaos in between.

Let’s go. 🏁

The summit hasn’t even officially started yet and I already have goosebumps 🥹🧡

I arrived at while everything was still being set up, so come behind the scenes with me for a first look at the incredible race suits, memorabilia, workshops and women bringing this weekend to life.

Yesterday I taught the first session of Camera Confidence 🥹

Today I did my HYROX training, made myself lunch, laid down on the couch for “a minute” and now I have absolutely no desire to get back up. 😂

Meanwhile, there are videos waiting to be edited and website copy that is very much not going to write itself.

A little reminder that you can be really proud of what you’re building AND be tired.

You can be excited about where you’re going AND have days where you’d rather lie on the couch.

Anyway. Here’s your very glamorous behind-the-scenes look at entrepreneurship today.

Posting this is officially my transition activity. Now someone tell me to get up and edit the damn videos. 😂

Entrepreneurship, self-employed, wfh

I don’t think you need to fake confidence.

I think you need to practice being visible while you’re still a little uncomfortable.

Confidence is the result, not the prerequisite.

And yes, this is basically the entire reason I created Camera Confidence. 👀 Doors close tomorrow.
