So here’s the thing—I was trying to pick ONE picture to post today… and somehow ended up creating a whole montage (ā€œbecause I canā€ thank you for the reminder šŸ˜…)
Going through them reminded me of what people used to say back in high school: ā€œYou’re always changing your hair!ā€ Guess that habit stuck.

But more seriously, birthdays always make me reflect. I think about where I’ve been, how far I’ve come, and where I’m still going. I’ve always been goal-oriented. Sometimes I hit the mark, sometimes I miss, and sometimes things just take longer than expected. But through it all, I remain thankful.

I enter this year with gratitude—for life, for health, for purpose, and for the people who’ve shown up along the way. My dream (even if it sounds like a six-year-old’s wish) is still for the world to be a better place, and I’ll keep striving toward that.

To God, my family, my friends, and every supporter who encourages me—I thank you. šŸ’› Cheers to another trip around the sun. šŸ„‚

Happy 89th Birthday, Dad! šŸŽ‰
Your wisdom and love have shaped so much of who I am. I thank God for blessing you with these 89 incredible years, and I’m grateful to celebrate you today. Love you always.

Do you ever feel like no matter how much you try to explain, people who aren’t living it just… don’t really get it?

When I talk about caring for a loved one with dementia, I’m often met with, ā€œOh, that must be hard… forgetting things all the time.ā€

But dementia is so much more than memory loss.

It’s navigating their fear, confusion, and anger.
It’s grieving little pieces of them as they change.
It’s the emotional toll of being their anchor when the world feels upside down to them.
It’s the exhaustion of watching the person you love struggle with things they once did without thinking, eating, walking, speaking, even recognizing their own reflection.

It’s heartbreaking, beautiful, frustrating, and lonely, all at once.

I wish more people understood that memory loss is just one small part of this journey. There is a whole world of feelings, behaviours, and physical challenges that come with dementia, and caregivers carry so much of it quietly.

Advice to those who want to support a caregiver but don’t know how? Listen to them. Believe them. Hold space for them.

We don’t need you to fix it, we just need you to see the whole picture.

Simple but a strong message. Thank you for this one šŸ’œ

My freckles are coming in and this is what they tell me…

I zoomed in on this pic ( you know the check and post routine šŸ˜„) and then I reeeally saw my freckles…perhaps more this year, than the last and then, I realized my timeline is just that, a timeline.

Not a highlight reel, not a curated story for the world.
It’s my map, my journal, my footprints in this digital space thing.

I scrolled back and saw the eras and of course I purged a bit and saw the searching AND the stretching.

And now… now I’m in my freckle era.
Where the sun kisses my skin and whispers, you’ve lived and I’m ok with that.

These little marks don’t just show up, they arrive.
Proof that I’ve been here doing some things.

Here’s to showing up, fully, as free as you want to be, freckles and all.

Hey caregivers,

Just watched this Gen X mom and her Gen Z son break it down — how Gen Z pursues passion early, while Gen X was handed the grind: ā€œWork hard, get good grades, get the job… then what?ā€

It hit different.

When did you give yourself permission to choose joy over just checking boxes?

And if you haven’t yet… what are you waiting for?
Time to find your joy even in the midst of caregiving.

To my Zou Zou, my sweet girl, you are everything I prayed for and more. ā¤ļøšŸ’•ā¤ļøšŸ’•

In just five years, you’ve shown brilliance, kindness, courage, and a heart that knows God. You teach me daily—especially about forgiveness and patience.

Your laughter, strength, and light fill our home, and I’m endlessly grateful. Watching you grow inspires me to grow too. You are everything I spent decades becoming, and yet you arrived already whole.

Thank you for choosing me. Being your mommy is the greatest honour of my life. I love you more than words will ever hold.

Love Mommy

Mother’s Day brings with it an array of emotions that I’ve carried gently—and sometimes heavily—over the years. There’s too much to fully unpack in a single message, but what I can say is this: I’m deeply grateful for life and for the love my mom gave so freely. And yet, there’s a quiet grief that lingers.

My mom is still here, but no longer aware of special days like these. That reality carries its own kind of sorrow. So today, I give thanks not only for the memories we made, but also for the moments I now create with my own daughter—moments shaped by the love and lessons passed down to me.

There’s so much of my mom that lives on in the way I parent. In the soft touches, the quiet reassurances, the strength laced with tenderness—I see her. I feel her.

Mother’s Day is complicated for many of us. If that’s true for you too, I hope you can find space to honor your journey. And if your mother left you with anything beautiful, may you take the best of her and pour it into someone else—whether that’s a child, a friend, or even yourself.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. Thank you for everything. Love always. ā¤ļøšŸ’•ā¤ļø
