Establishment of “Tabassum Corner”
Consortium Publisher Canada – eLibrary (Social Sciences Section)
We are pleased to formally announce the establishment of “Tabassum Corner” within the Social Sciences Section of the Consortium Publisher Canada eLibrary. This dedicated scholarly space has been instituted in the enduring memory of Prof. Dr. Haroon ur Rashid Tabassum (Late)—a distinguished scholar of Urdu language and literature, writer, poet, intellectual, and academic thought leader.
Prof. Dr. Tabassum’s contributions represent a significant body of intellectual work within the domains of Urdu literary studies, philosophy, and humanistic scholarship, with particular scholarly engagement in the interpretation and dissemination of Allama Iqbal’s philosophical thought. His multidisciplinary role as an author, researcher, socio-literary contributor, and public intellectual has had a sustained impact on academic discourse in Pakistan and internationally.
“Tabassum Corner” is conceptualized as a curated academic repository, designed to systematically preserve, organize, and disseminate scholarly materials aligned with his intellectual legacy. The initiative aims to:
Support research and scholarship in humanities and social sciences
Facilitate critical engagement with Urdu literature and philosophy
Provide a structured platform for archival, analytical, and interpretive works
Promote interdisciplinary academic dialogue rooted in literary and cultural studies
