Congratulations to Tale on receiving her Permanent Residency Card! Over the next 2 - 4 years, she can apply and complete a test to become a Canadian citizen. Everyone is very confident she can do this and will support Tale through the next phase of her residency journey.

Congratulations to Parnian Ghiasvand, a UTM student who completed an internship at Community on Campus, a partnership between Community Living Mississauga and the University of Toronto Mississauga!

Parnian was nominated by Shernette Brown for consistently going above and beyond in her placement. Known for her empathy, flexibility, and open-minded approach, Parnian has built meaningful connections with the participants while remaining focused on her learning goals and personal growth.

When reflecting on her experience, Parnian shared: "What made the experience so meaningful to me was getting to know the participants personally and realizing that sometimes the smallest things, like listening, encouraging, or sharing a laugh, can make someone feel seen and valued."

Parnian's positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine care for others have helped enhance the quality of life and sense of belonging for the participants at Community on Campus.

Congratulations to Sanjenaa Jayaraju, our Community Living Mississauga Volunteer of the Month!

This summer, Sanjenaa volunteered at our Summer Teen Activity Program (STAP), supporting youth who have an intellectual disability enjoy what summer has to offer. Over the course of three weeks, she contributed an incredible 135 hours of service.

Our employees consistently described Sanjenaa as punctual, enthusiastic, respectful, eager to learn, and always willing to assist. One employee shared:
"She was very engaging with employees and participants, very kind and respectful. She was very willing to adapt to comments or suggestions."

Another noted: "She didn't need suggestions; she knew how to be assist. She interacted a lot with the participants."

Sanjenaa's initiative, positive attitude, and genuine connections with the youth helped create meaningful experiences and memorable summer moments. Her willingness to jump in wherever needed made her an invaluable member of the team.

Thank you, Sanjenaa, for your dedication, compassion, and the difference you've made in the lives of the young people we support. We are proud to recognize you as our Volunteer of the Month!
