Maybe this is common knowledge, and I just didn’t know….but did you know that Jeff Beck was asked to replace both Syd Barrett and Brian Jones, in the respective bands? I can kinda see him in the Stones but definitely not in Pink Floyd. I think both bands ended up with the perfect fits, with David Gilmour and Mick Taylor, for the music they were making.

For all of you big Black Crowes fans out there…what did you think of The Magpie Salute? I’m a huge fan of all things Marc Ford, and while I thought their live shows were great, I found the studios albums to be a bit of a let down. They had some really good moments, but considering the talent in the band, I think the albums are somewhat of a let down. It’s by far the best post-Crowes project though. I definitely wasn’t a fan of what Chris was doing.
