I usually stick to shining a light on local talent...but this one's a well deserved exception!

A long-time friend and acquaintance from across the pond in London has recently joined forces with Humbleslug as their new drummer, and he's been absolutely smashing it!

Today, they’ve dropped their brand new single, Hangover at Work, which is available to stream right now.

Even better, they’re debuting it live tonight at the The Fickle Pickle, and I have no doubt it’s going to be a huge success. If you’re in the area, you won’t want to miss seeing these guys bring their heavy, atmospheric, and progressive sound to the stage.

Local Spotlight: Omnivide – Blazing a Trail in Progressive Metal

At Squore Media, we love spotlighting bands that push creative boundaries, and Moncton’s Omnivibe is a perfect example of modern progressive metal done right. Since forming in 2020, this powerhouse quintet has been carving out their own sonic identity—one that blends technical precision, symphonic depth, and raw intensity.

Rising from the ashes of their previous Opeth tribute project, Sunbird, Omnivibe set out to craft original music influenced by icons like Obscura, Opeth, Alkaloid, and Devin Townsend. Long running client Jordan Rudess has a new solo album which will be released on September 6, 2024! Jordan, no stranger to music exploration, is accompanied by vocalist That Joe Payne, UK drummer Darby Todd, and guitarist Steve Dadaian, as well as guest guitar solos from Bastian Martinez.

As Jordan Rudess explains, “The essence of the album is deeply informed by the tumultuous events of 2023-2024, with motifs of peace and anti-violence woven throughout many of the songs.”
