Warm, soulful, and unapologetically confident: Nigerian-Canadian artist TOBi drops “He’s So Good”, a standout single off ELEMENTS Vol. 2 that feels like a morning affirmation set to analog-funk rhythms.

Produced by Canadian hip-hop legend Classified, the track rides on live-style drums, funky bass grooves, rich horns, and vintage keys. It channels a timeless soul energy while TOBi speaks affirmations into existence: “He’s so good…like braille, the way I make ’em feel words on the sheet.” The song is meant to be that soundtrack you hear to yourself before facing the day—with intention and purpose.

Born in Lagos and grown in Brampton, TOBi has built his career on honest storytelling and cultural pride. His journey from Still (2019) through the JUNO and Polaris-winning ELEMENTS Vol. 1, to his award-laden PANIC album (2023) showcased a sound rooted in hip-hop, Afrobeat, R&B, and neo-soul. Now on Vol. 2, he continues that evolution—this time embracing both vulnerability and self-belief in equal measure.

On “He’s So Good,” you get cinematic soul that taps into self-worth, mental wellness, and cultural lineage—built for listeners who know that art can be both introspection and anthem.

Crafted with LA producer Olivier Bassil, this single follows her 2024 breakout “Playground Heart” and previews an upcoming deluxe EP where dream pop, western aesthetics, and introspective lyricism continue to merge seamlessly.

Jia’s music is deeply informed by her early love of film—Tarantino, Lynch, Wong Kar‑Wai—and echoed in her blend of dream pop, earthy Americana, and noir‑tinged indie rock. Her influences span Mitski, Mazzy Star, Lou Reed, and Big Thief, giving her sound both gravitas and cinematic depth.

With over half a million streams and editorial support from Spotify, KEXP, and CBC, Jia is steadily shaping her space as a singular talent in the indie realm.

On “Love Like A Rolling Pin”, she delivers an evocative narrative built on haunting melodies and cinematic tension. As she explains in recent interviews, the track was conceived as a “badass” anthem—the kind of song she imagined for cinematic heroines walking through desert landscapes with purpose and fire. It explores themes of inherited pain, conditional love, and emotional resilience woven into melody and verse.

This track unfolds like an ode to the Algerian desert—soulful, serene, and deeply textured. In her own words: “À tout jamais amoureuse du désert Algérien,” reflecting a profound connection to ancestral landscapes through sound and language.

First arriving in Canada amid the Algerian civil war, Meryem channeled her upbringing—steeped in jazz, chaabi, soul, hip-hop, and reggae—into a rich vocal identity that runs across R&B, rap, and Maghrebi soul-pop

After founding Montreal’s multicultural hip-hop collective Nomadic Massive, she launched her solo journey with the 2017 album On My Way and later EPs including Game of Life (2023), which fused BoomTrap, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and poetic social commentary.

On “Ténéré,” Meryem leans fully into intimate expression—singing in her native French/Derja tongue over haunting melodies and desert-inspired atmospheres. The result is both spacious and grounded, a hypnotic reflection on identity, memory, and resilience that marks a turning point in her artistic narrative.

Montreal, indie duo Bouvier Normal—Indy Bouvier and Mike Norma's latest single “I Can Tell”, is a standout track from their True Love EP. This song merges silky harmonies and acoustic guitar textures with bold distortion and driving drums, creating a sound that’s both intimate and impactful.

“I Can Tell” captures Bouvier Normal’s signature contrast: the soft vocal stacks of Indy against Mike’s unapologetic percussion and gritty tone. Their music taps into themes of codependency, solitude, depression, and social anxiety—but always through a lens of cathartic release, connection, and emotional authenticity.

With “I Can Tell”, Bouvier Normal deliver a powerful new chapter: a song that isn’t afraid to confront emotional weight while remaining sonically tender and enticing. It’s the kind of indie gem that lingers—an evolving narrative shaped by vocal chemistry and rhythmic contrast.

Cinematic soul meets modern romance: Edmonton-born R&B singer Avenoir teams up with Texas-born Bryant Barnes on “Heaven,” a luminous single that unfolds like a slow-burning love declaration. Over piano chords and layered harmonies, their voices intertwine in a yearning chorus: “I wanna go to Heaven… you’re the reason I’m still here breathing” — a testament to love’s redemptive power.

Avenoir (Caleb Odidi) burst onto the scene with his debut EP Noire in late 2023, earning a Juno nod for Contemporary R&B/Soul in 2025. His refined blend of alt-soul, subtle jazz, and emotive vocals quickly gained traction. Bryant Barnes, emerging from Cypress, Texas, offered viral lyricism on TikTok before signing with Mercury Records in 2023. His debut album Vanity dropped in mid-2024, and tracks like “I’d Rather Pretend” placed him firmly in the new wave of emotionally-charged R&B.

“Heaven” is a natural collision of two rising voices—Avenoir’s cinematic soulcraft and Barnes’ intimate vulnerability—co-producing and co-writing the track with Andrew Luce and YMX Beats. The result is layered, cinematic, and tactile: a visual and sonic ode to connection. The official video, released June 13, 2025, places both artists in intimate, emotion-driven vignettes with their partners—symbolic moments that bring the song’s yearning lyrics to life.

Afrobeats pioneer, Fuse ODG makes a grand return with his stirring new single “Sundiata,” featuring spoken-word phenom Suli Breaks. This lead-off track from his recently released album Spirit of New Africa (S.O.N.A) merges ancestral pride, poetic lyricism, and cultural celebration in a way only Fuse can.

A British‑Ghanaian artist celebrated for global hits like “Antenna,” “Dangerous Love,” and “Million Pound Girl,” Fuse has long championed African identity and empowerment through his music. With S.O.N.A closing his trilogy following T.I.N.A and N.A.N.A, “Sundiata” stands as a bold homage to African heritage and unity across the diaspora.

Suli Breaks lends his signature spoken-word depth, delivering verses that read like a poetic declaration of self-worth, resistance, and ancestral connection. Together, they summon a sonic movement—one that feels spiritual, socially conscious, and rhythmically alive. Reviews have already hailed “Sundiata” as a cultural anthem that taps into identity, purpose, and togetherness.

Jenevieve reemerges with “Haiku”, her first new music in over two years. Known for her dreamy fusion of soulful melodies and minimalist production, she channels heartfelt poetry into each verse—this track is a tender, hushed tribute to the awkward beauty of new infatuation, “like writing a poem about someone you’re still figuring out how to love.”

Originally from Miami and grounded in Cuban and Bahamian heritage, Jenevieve built early buzz with her debut single “Medallion” and breakthrough song “Baby Powder.”

Her 2021 debut DIVISION and 2022’s RENDEZVOUS confirmed her place as a leader in the resurgence of '90s-influenced neo-soul and timeless R&B.

Produced by longtime collaborator Elijah Gabor, “Haiku” layers gauzy instrumentation under Jenevieve’s effortless vocals, unveiling a deeper emotional hue than past releases—a poetic reminder of love’s gentle uncertainties.

“Haiku” marks the beginning of a new chapter—lush, introspective, and unmistakably Jenevieve.
