A Message of Support for Mai Jeremaya & A Call for Accountability 🌸

Dear Mai Jeremaya (Ashley Masendeke),

Your bravery in sharing your story is a beacon of strength. No one should endure the trauma you’ve described, and your courage in speaking out, despite the pain and public scrutiny, is nothing short of heroic. Your friend Cynthia’s words cut deep, exposing the deception and betrayal you faced.

Regardless of the court’s ruling, your truth matters, and your voice is a lifeline for others who feel silenced. You are not defined by this ordeal but by your resilience. We believe you, Mai, and we stand with you. 💜

TO THE 2 MEN INVOLVED - Your actions, as described by Mai and supported by Cynthia’s account of deceit, are despicable. Even if the courts didn’t convict you, hiding behind technicalities doesn’t erase the harm you’ve caused. You exploited trust, manipulated circumstances, and left a woman scarred. This isn’t power—it’s cowardice. Face the mirror and own the wreckage you’ve caused. Change your ways, seek accountability, or live knowing your legacy is one of pain. Society is watching, and karma doesn’t miss.

TO GOVERNMENTAUTHORITIES: - The acquittal in Mai’s case highlights cracks in our justice system. Insufficient evidence shouldn’t mean silenced survivors. Reform the legal process—train police to handle sexual assault cases with care, ensure forensic evidence is preserved, and protect victims from retraumatization. Fund support services and create stricter laws to deter predators. Justice must serve survivors, not shield.

TO WOMEN GROUPS AND ADVOCATES:

Mai’s story, and countless others, demands your action. Amplify survivors’ voices, provide legal and emotional support, and push for systemic change. Organize campaigns to educate communities on consent and accountability. Let’s build a world where women like Mai are heard, believed, and protected.

This tragic image mirrors human behavior when pride, greed, or rivalry override reason. Just like the python that killed and tried to consume its equal, people sometimes destroy relationships, communities, or careers in pursuit of power, status, or revenge—only to realize too late that they’ve gone too far. In seeking to conquer others, we may end up consuming ourselves, trapped by the weight of our own actions. This is a reminder that unchecked ego and impulsive decisions can lead to self-destruction. True strength lies not in domination, but in wisdom, restraint, and the ability to coexist, even with rivals.

Oh, Zigo , what a hot take! 🙄 So, according to you and Dr. Kuda Tagwirei, anyone not chasing government tenders is just a "foolish spectator"? And you’re throwing Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Aliko Dangote, and Johann Rupert into the "tenderpreneur" bucket?

Let’s unpack this masterpiece of logic.First off, calling Musk and Gates "tenderpreneurs" is like calling a lion a housecat because they both have claws. These guys built global empires through innovation, grit, and markets way beyond government contracts.

Musk’s Tesla and SpaceX? Sure, SpaceX works with NASA, but that’s not him begging for tenders—it’s NASA needing his rockets because no one else can deliver.
Gates? Microsoft grew by selling software to everyone, not just cozying up to government officials. Dangote and Rupert? They dominate industries, not tender queues. Conflating their success with tender-chasing is lazy reasoning at best, or maybe just a sly way to justify certain local practices.

😉Tagwirei’s advice to “register, prepare your papers, and apply” sounds like a motivational poster, but let’s be real. In Zimbabwe, we all know the tender game often isn’t about who’s got the best product or service—it’s about who’s got the best connections. That’s not business; that’s a rigged lottery. Encouraging young people to jump into that swamp without calling out the cronyism? Suspiciously convenient, Zigo. Smells like you’re waving a flag for the “right” crowd, not the hustlers.

Real entrepreneurship is about creating value, solving problems, and competing in open markets—not just milking government deals. If anything, those who only chase tenders are the spectators, waiting for handouts while the real innovators build something from nothing. Try again, Zigo.

Kudakwashe Tagwirei, a Zimbabwean businessman and Sakunda Holdings founder, sparked controversy by calling Zimbabweans who don’t secure government tenders “foolish” during a speech at the National University of Science and Technology in Bulawayo. He defended tenderpreneurship, arguing the government is the country’s biggest buyer and seller, and claimed critics are jealous or misled by a term coined to discourage Black businesspeople. Tagwirei, recently appointed to Zanu PF’s central committee, has secured millions in government contracts, including a US$3 billion deal for Command Agriculture, which critics say contributed to currency collapse and hyperinflation. The U.S. and U.K. imposed sanctions on him for leveraging political ties for contracts. Critics, including economist Tinashe Murapata and businessman Kuda Musasiwa, argue his comments lack nuance, noting that Command Agriculture bypassed tender processes and used pension funds, and that the tender system favors politically connected entities over equitable access
