🟠 Every Child Matters / Chaque Enfant Compte 🟠

This is a chance to reflect, listen, acknowledge, and support Indigenous Canadians as we come to terms with the country’s horrific legacy of residential schools. One way to do that is follow the work and donate to the non-profit Orange Shirt Society 🟧 (https://www.orangeshirtday.org/orange-shirt-society.html).

We’re proud to support this organization through donation, at PFM. Thank you to them (and to artist Andy Everson) for the difference they are making in spreading awareness of the residential school experience and the steps necessary to “witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and families,” in the name of reckoning and reconciliation.

For 2019, and PFM asked 7 designers and artists to pay tribute to the LGBTQIA acronym 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We’re still so incredibly proud of this project and the hugely talented creators behind it.

Our 4 core values in our Code of Ethics, which every PFM team member needs to sign, are to “Be Authentic,” “Keep Curious,” “Speak Up,” and “Stand Out.” We hope we’re making the world a bit better of a place, in the process, by lifting up and empowering LGBTQIA+ people in all the things we do, in our workplace and beyond.

Happy ! 🌈

Emoji have become a huge part of how we communicate online, but do they truly reflect our diverse world? Some highlights from Adobe Creative Cloud global emoji survey:

😶Only half of emoji users think their identity is reflected
🌏 Most users believe emoji should do more to be inclusive
👪 Most users customize emoji and what more options to better reflect their identities
🕊76% of users feel emoji are a tool for creating unity, respect, and understanding

We worked with Adobe to help showcase these new insights about diversity and emoji. Check it out: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2021/04/15/towards-diverse-inclusive-future-for-emoji.html .yv1qb7

💖 “I am hopeful that by making our systems for interpersonal communication more inclusive, we will be able to see and understand each other better, empathize with each other more, and create a more cooperative culture that values the strength that comes from valuing diverse experiences and voices” ~ Paul D. Hunt

Mary W. Jackson, hidden figure no more 🚀 To commemorate NASA naming its HQ in Washington, D.C. after Jackson, the space agency asked Tracie Ching and six other artists to to create homages to the now-legendary engineer.

Ching created this amazing portrait, and we asked her what it meant to her to honour Jackson, for Adobe Drawing. Check it out here: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2021/03/17/tracie-ching-nasa-mary-w-jackson-fresco-portrait.html .ypki2f

“The greatest success I could hope to achieve with this image is to help young girls feel seen. To let them know these people existed and changed things for the better just by being themselves.” ✨

We all know the importance of creating a North Star Vision for your projects, but how do you communicate it to others so they jump onboard with you? 🌟 The answer = design vision stories.

We worked with Gabi Duncombe to tackle this big question. Gabi shared her awesome expertise on communicating North Star Visions on projects that set you up for success. Check it out at https://xd.adobe.com/ideas/process/prototyping/how-to-craft-design-vision-stories/, where she looks at:

✅ How to define your design vision story
✅ How to format your design vision story
✅ Principles of a good design vision story
✅ Documents to help you along the way

This , we honour incredible women in design out there solving problems and fighting the good fight to make the world a fairer, safer, more equitable place. 👏

We also honour those incredible women at PFM, who work their hardest daily to tell the best design stories and amplify the voices of incredible creators across the world, even when it’s challenging. 🙌

“Technically, you can achieve pretty much anything with now, which is why there is more and more need for 3D design. It’s about to become the ‘new normal’.” – Anna Natter 🟦

At the end of 2020, we interviewed several incredible designers for Substance & Adobe Aero and asked them how 3D and AR will transform design in 2021 and beyond. Their answer: buckle up, 3D is the future.

For the 3rd season of Wireframe, Adobe XD and Khoi Vinh tackled some tough topics – everything from how is affecting designers to design’s role in elections, streaming services, and that sometimes elusive thing we call sleep 😴 The podcast saw awesome growth, and we were thrilled to be able to support.

For this season, we commissioned genius Klawe Rzeczy for some podcast friendly episodic imagery – each one reflecting the storyline of the podcast and pulling from diverse photography and illustration to make something truly unique and impactful.

Check out this incredible art, and listen to Wireframe on Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Podcast 🎧

I think Vivienne Shao (instagram.com/bobbythebigbird) said it best with this kickass illustration: “2021 is the year of the ox, I hope it can crash the year of the rat.” 🔴

Wishing a happy Lunar New Year to everyone celebrating. We hope it brings lots of luck and happiness (and creativity!) your way 🎉

“The numbers don’t lie – and they deserve action.” Americans have higher rates of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and asthma; they are less likely to survive curable cancers, and struggle to find empathetic care. is a design and content initiative from TBWA\WorldHealth striving to change all that. 🟡⚫️

We worked with Adobe Creative Cloud to help tell their story and showcase their mission to raise awareness of these massive health disparities – a mission made even more important by .
