Everyone believed Chinedu's death was a tragic accident. Only one person knew it was murder."
Episode 2
Amara's hands trembled as she unfolded the letter.
The words on the paper seemed to blur before her eyes.
She took a deep breath and began to read.
"Amara, if you are reading this, then my worst fear has come true."
Her heart skipped.
"Someone close to me wants me dead."
Amara covered her mouth.
"No..." she whispered.
She continued reading.
"For weeks, I have been receiving threats. At first, I thought they were jokes. Then I realized someone was watching me."
A cold shiver ran down her spine.
"I don't know who I can trust anymore. If anything happens to me, look inside the old wooden box under our bed. The truth is there."
The letter ended abruptly.
Amara immediately dropped to her knees and looked beneath the bed.
There it was.
A dusty wooden box she had never seen before.
Her heartbeat thundered in her ears.
Slowly, she pulled it out.
Inside were photographs.
Dozens of them.
Photos of Chinedu meeting different people.
Some were taken secretly from a distance.
Then one photograph made her freeze.
It was the mysterious woman from the funeral.
Standing beside Chinedu.
Smiling.
Amara felt the room spinning.
"Who are you?" she whispered.
Suddenly—
BANG!
Someone knocked loudly on the front door.
Amara jumped.
The knock came again.
Harder.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Fear gripped her chest.
It was almost midnight.
Who could be visiting at this hour?
Slowly, she walked toward the door.
"Who is it?" she asked nervously.
No answer.
Silence.
Then a voice.
A woman's voice.
"Open the door, Amara."
Amara froze.
She recognized the voice.
It was the mysterious woman from the funeral.
The blood drained from her face.
"What do you want?" Amara asked.
The woman laughed softly.
A strange, chilling laugh.
"I came to help you."
Amara tightened her grip on the door.
"Help me with what?"
The woman's tone changed instantly.
"Your husband wasn't the person you thought he was."
Amara's eyes widened.
"What are you talking about?"
Before the woman could answer, headlights suddenly appeared outside the compound.
A black SUV drove past the house.
The mysterious woman immediately panicked.
For the first time, fear appeared on her face.
"They found me," she whispered.
"What?" Amara asked.
The woman looked around desperately.
"If you want to know who killed Chinedu, don't trust anyone."
Then she ran into the darkness.
The SUV stopped.
Two men stepped out.
Both dressed in black.
They stared directly at Amara's house.
Amara quickly switched off the lights and hid behind the curtain.
One of the men pointed toward her window.
The other nodded.
Slowly...
They began walking toward her front door.
Amara's heart nearly stopped.
Who were these men?
Why were they following the mysterious woman?
And what terrible secret had Chinedu been hiding?
Outside, the footsteps grew closer.
Then came a loud knock.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
"Open the door!"
Amara stood frozen in fear.
