Benjamin Massoubre est réalisateur, il s’est pris de passion pour le cinéma d’animation en découvrant sa richesse et sa variété dans les salles du Festival du court métrage de Clermont-Ferrand. Il a débuté en tant que monteur et a eu la chance de travailler sur de nombreux projets animés qui lui ont valu de devenir membre de l’A.C.E et de l’Académie des Oscars. Il a notamment collaboré avec Jérémy Clapin sur J’ai perdu mon corps, avec Rémi Chayé sur Tout en Haut du monde et Calamity : Une enfance de Martha Jane Cannary ou encore avec Patrick Imbert sur Le sommet des dieux. Sa première réalisation : Le Petit Nicolas : Qu’est ce qu’on attend pour être heureux ? a été sélectionnée au festival de Cannes et a également reçu le Cristal du long métrage du festival international d’Annecy en 2022. Actuellement, il travaille à la réalisation de plusieurs projets tant en prise de vue réelle qu’en animation.

Benjamin Massoubre is a director who developed a passion for animation cinema after discovering its richness and diversity at the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival. He started as an editor and had the opportunity to work on numerous animated projects, which led him to become a member of the A.C.E. and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Notably, he collaborated with Jérémy Clapin on J’ai perdu mon corps, Rémi Chayé on Tout en Haut du monde and Calamity : Une enfance de Martha Jane Cannary, and Patrick Imbert on Le sommet des dieux. His first film, Le Petit Nicolas : Qu’est-ce qu’on attend pour être heureux?, was selected at Cannes and also received the Crystal for Best Feature at the Annecy International Film Festival in 2022. Currently, he is working on several projects in both live-action and animation.

Hubert est un passionné d’animation qui oeuvre comme animateur, réalisateur, producteur et formateur dans l’industrie depuis près de 15 ans. Reconnu pour ces contributions sur des projets internationaux tel que Rick & Morty et Totally Spies et des séries de chez nous comme Lotus & Cali et L’Agent Jean c’est l’amour du médium qui guide chacune de ses créations. Avec une approche qui marie technicité et sensibilité artistique, il cherche constamment à repousser les frontières narratives de l’animation tout en transmettant son expertise aux nouvelles générations de créateurs.

Hubert is an animation enthusiast who has been working as an animator, director, producer, and educator in the industry for nearly 15 years. Known for his contributions to international projects such as Rick & Morty and Totally Spies, as well as local series like Lotus & Cali and L’Agent Jean, it is his love for the medium that drives each of his creations. With an approach that blends technical skill and artistic sensitivity, he constantly seeks to push the narrative boundaries of animation while passing on his expertise to the next generation of creators.

Katarina Martins /
Artiste développement visuel

Katarina Martins est une artiste conceptuelle, illustratrice et formatrice basée à Montréal, passionnée par la narration à travers le design visuel expressif. Diplômée de l’Université Concordia, elle collabore pour la deuxième fois avec le réalisateur Colin L. Racicot, ayant précédemment contribué au court métrage d’animation D'où viennent les lapins. Son travail allie douceur, charme narratif et une touche de fantaisie. Lorsqu’elle ne crée pas, elle aime siroter du matcha et rêvasser à propos de moutons.

Katarina Martins is a Montreal-based concept artist, illustrator, and art educator with a passion for storytelling through expressive visual design. A graduate of Concordia University, she is collaborating for the second time with director Colin L. Racicot, having previously contributed to the animated short Where Rabbits Come From. Her work balances softness, narrative charm, and a touch of whimsy. When not creating, she enjoys sipping matcha and daydreaming about sheep.

LOUIS-DAVID PRÉMONT / .premont
Artiste développement visuel

Finissant de l’école Pivaut, Louis-David Prémont est un jeune artiste québécois passionné par l’animation et le développement visuel. Après un parcours centré sur les Beaux-Arts, il s’est tourné vers l’animation. Son approche de la narration visuelle se concentre sur la création d’atmosphères immersives et marquantes.

Spécialisé dans la mise en scène, Louis-David valorise avant tout la collaboration et le partage de savoir entre collègues. Inspiré par des œuvres telles que Le Sommet des Dieux et Scavenger Reign, il cherche à enrichir chaque projet avec des ambiances visuelles fortes.

A graduate from École Pivaut, Louis-David Prémont is a young Quebecois artist with a passion for animation and visual development. Initially focused on Fine Arts, he later shifted to animation, where he developed a strong interest in visual storytelling.

Specializing in layouts and mise en scène, Louis-David values collaboration and knowledge-sharing among colleagues. Drawing inspiration from works like The Summit of the Gods and Scavenger Reign, he strives to enrich each project with immersive and striking visual atmospheres.

The past few weeks have been truly unforgettable—connecting with audiences from all over the world and hearing your thoughts about Where Rabbits Come From has meant so much to me. 💖🐇 It was an absolute joy to host a special screening in London, UK 🌟 Seeing our rabbits featured in the printed edition of the Animation Magazine was such an incredible moment! 🐇✨

I’m thrilled to share that the film has already reached 26,000 views on Omeleto and received some fantastic reviews on Letterboxd ! Knowing it resonated with so many of you is an honor I’ll treasure forever. 🌟

Where Rabbits Come From is a story about love, magic, and finding hope even in the darkest moments of reality. I created it for my daughters and for anyone who finds beauty in the little things. This journey taught me so much—about storytelling, artistry, and myself—and I’m beyond grateful for the support, encouragement, and inspiration you’ve all shared.

Drawing inspiration from Racicot’s personal journey through fatherhood, WHERE RABBITS COME FROM captivated audiences of all ages with its stunning animation and inspiring score, which was composed by Benoit Charest.

Following its international film festival tour, the film went on to win Best Animated Short at the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards(Académie canadienne du cinéma et de la télévision)
