These past few months have been some of the hardest of my life.
I spent so much of them beside my mother — fighting alongside her through every little battle, every setback, every fragile moment. And a few days ago, she left this world.
Being an artist while carrying all of this has been difficult. There were days when creating felt impossible, days when my mind and heart simply had no room left for art.
And right now, I’m still finding my way through the silence she left behind.
So if Mad Lips 21 has felt a little quieter, a little different, this is why.
Art has always been the language I return to when words are not enough. I know that part of me will come back. Maybe differently. Maybe more deeply. But it will come back.
For now, I’m giving myself the space to grieve, to remember her, and to slowly find my way back to creating.
Mom, thank you for being part of my story.
I’ll carry you into everything that comes next. 🤍
