Darem Aissa's label, Suleiman Records, marks 10 years with a 5-track deep tech compilation featuring Rhadow, DJ W!LD, Cesare vs Disorder, Jackspot, and Of Norway.
The tracks on this release have stripped back grooves with deep atmosphere, shuffling percussion and scintillating melodies.
It's a landmark EP celebrating a decade of releases from Suleiman Records, which has a catalogue featuring music by the likes of Darem Aissa, Alexi Delano, Nima Gorji, Robbie Akbal, Butane, Dave Aju, Alland Byallo, Kris Wadsworth, Robert Babicz, and many others of equal note.
It's a bittersweet celebration, as it's also the record label's final release, because Darem Aissa has decided to halt the label. Going out with a bang, this release showcases the full range of the label's sound, and invites some highly respected artists to the party.
Rhadow's "Collider" has a rolling bassline and trippy vocals, forming a hypnotic groove with sweeping pads.
DJ W!LD's "Sur Le Fil" has skipping percussion and a lurching bassline, which builds towards the later section's lush pads.
Cesare vs Disorder's "Come Back" features a two-step groove with a heavy bassline underpinning shimmering melodies and chic, spoken-word vocals by Joe Le Groove.
Jackspot's "Elypsia" pays homage to classic minimal from the likes of Oxia and James Holden, combining a modulating melody synth with shuffling percussion and moody atmosphere.
Of Norway's "Liquid Velvet" closes the release with trippy vocals and a cascading bassline creating a jazzy groove overlayered with a majestic melody.
