In less than 24 hours, the people of Montréal reminded us what community truly means.
Following yesterday’s tragedy, donations poured in from across the city to support the families of both victims. Together, the two GoFundMe campaigns have raised nearly half a million dollars, with the officer’s family approaching $300,000 and the civilian victim’s family nearing $200,000.
In moments like these, differences are put aside and compassion takes over. Neighbours, strangers, businesses, and community members all came together with one message: no family should face this alone.
Behind every donation is a person choosing kindness. Behind every share is someone trying to help. And behind every dollar is a reminder that Montréal stands together when it matters most.
