So happy to release this beautiful Mary Lattimore rework-remix of "Rosa Canina" from First Sounds, and its beautiful accompanying video piece by Kaveh Nabatian. Mary and Kaveh are both longtime friends and collaborators of Sarah Neufeld / Richard Reed Parry / Rebecca Foon and each of them do something in their respective artforms that often seems to start as naturalism, then becomes slightly magical and then at some point very, very magical. So we are thrilled to have them both bringing their magical touches to reworking and reforming a piece of music.

We're thrilled to announce Kid Koala's The Storyville Mosquito will return to the stage at the Montreal International Jazz Festival for the third time June 25–27, 2026!

Experience a film created before your eyes using live puppetry, miniature sets, cinematic camera techniques, a string trio and and Kid Koala on piano and turntables! The charming tale follows the adventures of a mosquito who moves to the big city to pursue his dream of one day becoming a great jazz musician.

The GAMIQ Awards have unveiled their short list for the 2025 nominations, and we’re thrilled that three Envision artists are on it!

Colin Stetson’s The love it took to leave you has been nominated for Best Experimental Album, Sarah Neufeld / Richard Reed Parry / Rebecca Foon’s First Sounds for Best Musique Classique Album (both out on Envision Records), and Nadah El-Shazly’s Laini Tani is nominated for Best Sono Mondiale Album (out on One Little Independent Records).

Congratulations to all nominees, we’re looking forward to the final awards Gala on November 30!

Bugs don’t usually say “holiday magic,” but this year one tiny insect is about to steal the festive spotlight. NAC English Theatre is thrilled to present Montreal’s scratch DJ, graphic novelist and director, Kid Koala as he brings his acclaimed Chaplin-esque live cinematic theatre experience The Storyville Mosquito to National Arts Centre for a two-week run, following dates across the US, Europe, Asia and recently Mexico. Coinciding with the performance, a limited-edition, physical-only 10” picture disc vinyl will be released featuring its never-before-issued soundtrack.

Le Théâtre anglais du CNA est ravi de présenter le scratcheur, auteur de romans graphiques et réalisateur montréalais Kid Koala et son expérience théâtrale et cinématographique chaplinesque acclamée The Storyville Mosquito pour deux semaines au Centre national des Arts, après des représentations aux États-Unis, en Europe, en Asie et tout récemment au Mexique. Et pour coïncider avec cette présentation, un disque vinyle illustré de 10 po à tirage limité (en version physique seulement) de la trame sonore sera lancé.

Black Butterflies is out today — the luminous new album by acclaimed cellist, composer, producer, and environmental activist Rebecca Foon. Recorded in her Laurentian barn, Black Butterflies drifts between shadow and light — weaving cello, piano, bass, minimalist beats, and haunting vocals into a meditation on love, loss, and quiet resilience.

Also out today is the beautiful music video for “If I Could Only See the Distant Sky,” filmed on 16mm on Governor’s Island.

This weekend, experience the magic of First Sounds, the debut album from Montreal’s neoclassical trio Sarah Neufeld / Richard Reed Parry / Rebecca Foon. These world-renowned artists—known for their work with Arcade Fire, Bell Orchestre, and Esmerine—bring years of shared artistry to the stage just a short drive from Montreal, with shows at The Mill in New York on Friday and The Phoenix Gallery & Music Hall in Vermont on Saturday.

Almost a year since the First Sounds release, the trio returns with mesmerizing performances not to be missed — and more to look forward to soon.
