Muse Entertainment Strikes First-Look Deal with Award-Winning Journalist Rachel Browne
MONTREAL: June 24, 2025 - Muse Entertainment has signed an exclusive deal with Toronto-based journalist Rachel Browne to work with Muse’s unscripted team to develop and produce premium doc series for the Canadian and international markets.
“Rachel is one of Canada’s most respected investigative journalists, whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with for the past five years, I’m thrilled to be bringing her further into the fold,” says Jonas Prupas, managing director, Muse Ontario.
Muse and Browne have collaborated on several doc features and series in both development and production, with Browne contributing to current productions such as recently announced Running Smoke for CBC.
Browne’s work has been recognized by the Canadian Association of Journalists, the Digital Publishing Awards, the National Magazine Awards, and more. She has worked with Muse and other production companies in developing and producing documentary features and series including Witness for CBC, The Dark Side of Comedy for VICE TV, and Water is the New Fire for The Weather Network. Browne is also a Contributing Writer at The Walrus magazine where she publishes longform investigations. Previously, Browne was a senior reporter at VICE, where she produced the documentaries Rat Park and Steel Town Down.

Some of Muse’s past unscripted projects include Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy Wars (Netflix), Gangland Chronicles (History), The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith (Amazon Prime), and For Heaven’s Sake (Paramount +).
