Secret City Records is a Montreal-based record label originally founded in 2006 to release Patrick Watson’s album, Close to Paradise. We keep the roster small and focused, believing that attention to detail and a career-oriented approach will yield the best long-term results; we support the idea of a self-reinforcing community, where everyone helps each other grow; and we think globally, ensuring

that as many people from all over the world can discover and have access to our artists’ music. You will find that we are not limited by genre or format, nor by conventional thinking; that we strive to be fair, transparent, and humble; and that we’re always evolving and building. Our mission is to be a bridge between art and commerce, with unqualified respect and support for the artists’ vision.

Congratulations Bibi Club & Shad for being nominated on the 2026 longlist of the Polaris Music Prize. 🎉

Bibi Club earned recognition for their latest album Amaro, while Shad was nominated for Start Anew.

With this latest nomination, Shad now ties Basia Bulat, The Sadies, and The Weeknd for the most Polaris Music Prize nominations in the award's history, further cementing his place as one of Canada's most consistently celebrated artists.

Ce mois-ci, Bye Parula a dévoilé son dernier single avant la sortie de l’album Something Out Of Nothing. Côté synchronisations, Even the Darkness Has Arms des The Barr Brothers a été utilisée dans le film Netflix Remarkably Bright Creatures, tandis que Gordon in the Willows de Patrick Watson et Charlotte Cardin a été intégrée à un épisode de Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.

Recap of the month of May at Secret City!

This month, Bye Parula released their final single ahead of the upcoming album Something Out Of Nothing. On the sync side, Even the Darkness Has Arms by The Barr Brothers was featured in the Netflix film Remarkably Bright Creatures, while Gordon in the Willows by Patrick Watson and Charlotte Cardin was included in an episode of Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent.
