Words from Ada Kaleh România about his track:
"The track was made at a turning point for me, musically and artistically. Until about late 2007 I was involved in the trance scene, I was thriving, but out of the blue I felt lost and decided to quit the scene. Tried some different projects over a period of 2 years, from writing indie electronica to being in a post-rock band... but I was still struggling to find myself artistically. Around 2010 when I got the whole idea and concept of starting Ada Kaleh, I had a burst of creativity, writing about 300 sketches (1 minute loops with what I considered to be the middle of a track) in a couple of months time, some ended up being finished, some ended up as parts for my live act. Regasire was one of the finished tracks (well it was finished over a period of 4 years). That was the moment I felt in tune with the music I was writing. I was once again rediscovering my artistic self."

Our very first post starts with Jesse Somfay as Borealis! We will post music we love that has a story behind it, because we don't hear enough about the creative process and artists' sources of inspiration. The song here is not new, but after years, it's still incredibly powerful and emotional.

Here is a story behind it:
“Imago VX” was the final piece created during the Kallionyma recording sessions in the spring of 2014. It was also the most frustrating of them all to work with. I was having a lot of trouble with the main melody during the chorus. I felt it needed to reach a certain height to go above and beyond the atmosphere of the song’s main body, but for a few hours, it just was not happening. On my final evening working on the piece, my frustration peaked briefly - and then went absolutely silent inside of me. The silence was pregnant rather than empty.

In the way that a wind on a summer night suddenly rustles through a forest canopy, or brushes the rolling crests of wheat fields with a certain adroitness, some undefined force became a part of me within those moments. It gave me the intuition to figure out what needed to be done with the chorus melody, and within a few short minutes, the song had attained the heights I envisioned for it.

It was a moment of intense relief and release, like a discharging capacitor. But it was not solely because the piece had been completed. Through working on Imago, I experienced a great freeing of something from within, and I felt tears fall down my face as I smiled vibrantly. Something calling to be let go had come untethered and fallen away, lightening a load in me. These moments are never planned; they simply arrive. Just like a dancer reaches the moment of apogee when dance and dancer merge as one - and something else takes over. These moments only come to you when you’re already in motion.”
