I'm loving the dance floors this year. Since the very first Wedding this year, which was in January for me, the dance floor every single Wedding has been VERY busy, and today was no different for sure.

Jenna and Dylan were Married officially the day before the Reception, but we began this day with a Ceremony anyway, for those who were not present at the official one and it went very well and was short, but fun!

We moved inside Roebuck Community Centre for the Cocktail period while the couple and Family members had photos done on the grounds.

Once we were ready for dinner, everyone came upstairs into the main room and between dinner courses we did the speeches. After Jenna's Dad did his speech we had the Father / Daughter Dance and after Dylan's Parents did their speech, we did the Mother / Son Dance.

There was a break after dinner while many additional guests arrived, which more doubled our initial head count for dinner. Once the majority of them arrived, we did the formal Grand Entrance of the Bride and Groom and went into the First Dance for Jenna and Dylan, which tonight was Ordinary by Alex Warren.

The dance floor opened immediately off of the First Dance and it started well and continued right till the cutoff time of 1am. It was a fun crowd and they loved to dance! Easy to work a crowd when they are up dancing.

Thank You Jenna and Dylan for using my services for this all important day, it is greatly appreciated. Best wishes to you guys as you and the children work through your lives together. Hope to catch you on a dance floor sometime in the future! All the best!

The Vendor list for today:
Roebuck Community Centre, The Venue (http://www.roebuckhall.ca/). I have played this hall on several occasions. Marlene and her staff keep a very clean and organized hall. This evening they catered as well, and the food was delicious. Great hall to check out for any event, but it does work well for your Wedding Day!
Oak + Ivory Photography, The Photographer. I've worked with Mallory now a few times and have always had a great experience working with her. She is on top of things all day, and friendly. I love to chat, and we had some nice chats throughout the day. Look her up!

That's all for today. Another fun Wedding planned for this coming weekend at another new venue for me.

Until then...

Another great Wedding in the books! Dancing seems to be contagious this year. Another great dance floor last night, but let's start at the beginning.

Liane and Alex were Married earlier in the afternoon at a Church Ceremony. Cocktails at The Bonnie Glen were supposed to happen outside in their yard, but the heat yesterday made everything difficult when it came to outdoor activities, so it was moved inside where it was significantly cooler.

Once photos were done and Cocktails were had, we announced the Bridal Party to great applause and were on our way with dinner. Speeches were broken up between courses and ended with Liane and Alex's Thank You's. More photos followed that and once they arrived back we began with the First Dance of the evening, which tonight featured Brett Young's In Case You Didn't Know.

The Parent Dances followed, as well as a special dance where Liane and Alex danced with their new In Laws. Then, the dance floor opened and never stopped! Everyone had a turn out on the floor at some point, and sometimes it felt like everyone in the room was up. We broke it up for a few minutes for a great Bouquet Toss and then Alex's older Brother had to grab a fun pair of socks and get out on the dance floor alone for a couple of minutes. This is a tradition for some that when a younger sibling gets Married before an older sibling, the older sibling is "punished" at the Wedding with this fun little event.

The night wound down a few minutes shy of the planned cutoff time. The guests all left and Liane and Alex were left alone in the room for a Private Last Dance, where they danced once again to their First Dance song, In Case You Didn't Know. This is a nice way to end your Wedding Day, if you can get it to happen.

Thank You again to Liane and Alex for choosing my services for your Wedding Day! What a pleasure it was to work with you guys towards what was a great day. Wishes for a great life together and hope to maybe see you guys out on the road somewhere on a dance floor. All the best!

Our Vendor List today:

The Bonnie Glen Pavilion, The Venue (https://bonnieglenpavilion.com/). One of my favorite places to work. Celine and Michel are fantastic hosts and do whatever they can to make your day / event a memorable one. Certainly a place you should check out.
Poirier Photography, The Photographer (https://www.poirierpix.photography/). First time working with Brandon. He's newer to the industry but is working hard to be successful. He was very busy through the entire day. Only briefly spoke with him, but he seems like a nice guy. Look him up if looking for your photographer.

That's it for this week. Another great couple this coming weekend, and a bit more local, but more about that when the day comes.

Until then...

All set to go for Liane and Alex this evening. They've had their Ceremony, so congratulations to them on their Marriage....

My first real outdoor Wedding of this year, and the heat was on... literally!

The location for Emily and Cam's Wedding was in a field on Private Property in the Matawatchan region.

The day began with the Ceremony away from the main tent, up on a hill. Everything went off great and they were now officially Married!

Cocktails were back in the tent while we waited on the photos to be taken before we settled into dinner, which tonight was a buffet. I had the honor of being the MC this evening and held a random table selection for the buffet by asking questions of the crowd, looking for specific items that I had on a list. This was fun and the crowd worked with me to keep it moving.

After the dinner portion, we began the speeches. Once we got a few of them completed, we broke for the Cake cutting, and dessert. Once everyone was settled after dessert, we continued with the speeches that were left to complete. The First Dance of the evening was up next, which tonight featured Tyler Childers Space And Time. The Parent Dances followed and then Emily and Cam went off for more photos. Once they arrived back, we opened the dance floor for the rest of the evening, which was quite busy for the most part all night, and we kept the festivities going until the 1am cutoff time. All in all a real fun party, with lots of family and friends in attendance.

Thank You again to Emily and Cam for choosing my services for this important day in your lives. It was a fun day, despite the heat and humidity (for me anyway). Wishing the two of you a long and happy life together and hoping to see you guys at another function at some point. All the best!

The Vendor list for today:
Courtney Dawn Photo, The Photographer (https://www.courtneydawn.ca/). First time working with Courtney. She was friendly and kept quite busy with everything going on during the day.
Palmateer's Abattoir, The Caterer (http://palmateersmeats.ca/). Once again a first time working together. The food was delicious and plentiful.
John Charbonneau, The Officiant (https://johncharbonneauofficiant.com/). Worked with John last year as well on one occasion. He was friendly and we had a chance to chat a bit before things got going and he got them Married and on their way in life! Check him out if needing an officiant.

That was all for this day. Next weekend I am back inside again and it is shaping up to be another fun one.

Until then...

07/05/2025

It's the BIG DAY for Emily and Cam!

Off to Private Property this morning to spend the day with them and their families and friends as we attempt once again to get everyone dancing! Ceremony and Dinner come first though and then the dancing takes over...

More to follow!
