Another great Wedding with another great couple!

This time it was Kaitlin and Joe at Roebuck Community Centre, and it went off great.

Our day started with the Ceremony out on the grounds of the venue and went very smooth, we got them saying their I Do's and they headed back up the aisle a Married couple!

While they were getting photos done, it was back into the venue for Cocktails and then a quick Grand Entrance of just the couple and they went straight into their First Dance, which today featured Cameron Whitcomb's You and Me.

Dinner was next, and was a buffet this evening, so I had a bit of fun with the tables to get them to go up to get food. Speeches followed that, which led into a round of The Shoe Game with the couple. Once that fun was had, they cut their cake and then headed back to the dance floor for a quick Father / Daughter Dance and the opening of the dance floor for the night.

Dancing was pretty steady throughout the evening, and we made it to the cutoff of Midnight with a healthy dance floor still. All in all, a great dance group and a fun evening for everyone!

Thank you so much Kaitlin and Joe for choosing my services for your Wedding Day, it was greatly appreciated and I enjoyed working with you guys to get through it all. Wishing the two of you and the children a great life together! All the best!

Summer has started to creep into the Wedding Season and it began somewhat in earnest this past Saturday for Olivia and Tim's Wedding at Rideau Acres.

The day began with the Ceremony outdoors. The forecast leading up to the day was not favorable to an outdoor Ceremony, but as the day wore on, the skies cleared and it was beautiful, but windy, which was alot easier to deal with than rain. The Ceremony went off well, they were Married and it was on to the party!

Inside today was a bit of a different story, as the AC in the building failed to work and it made it a bit uncomfortable. Some windows and doors were kept open to try to help.

After a fun entrance, Olivia and Tim went into their First Dance, which tonight featured Dan + Shay's Nothin' Like You.

A great Buffet dinner followed and then 2 groups of speeches from family and bridal party members before Olivia and Tim took the microphone to say their Thank You's. They they went on to cut the cake and we proceeded to the dance floor for the Parent Dances before opening the dance floor to everyone.

The dance floor was hindered a bit, I believe, by the warmth of the building today, as once the music began, the doors and windows had to be shut due to the building being in the middle of a campground, which would be distracting to those on site. So many people were in and out of the building to keep cool. People did dance throughout the night, but not to the extent I think they may have. The evening went through till about 11:15pm before wrapping up. It was a fun evening regardless and I think everyone had a great time.

Thank You to Olivia and Tim for having the faith in my services to bring me out today. It was a pleasure to work with you guys leading up to and including your day. Wishing the two of you all the best and maybe will catch you guys somewhere down the line.

The 2nd night of the residency at The Marshes Golf Club was with Audrey and Marc with a smaller crowd and a smaller room, which was significantly more intimate and cozy than the night before in the much larger part of the venue.

For this one the Ceremony was held in the same room as the Reception. The room was sort of split into three, with the Ceremony at one end, the dancing in the center and the dinner in the other end.

The Ceremony went off beautifully, with no issues at all, and Audrey and Marc were officially Married!

We moved to the Cocktail period while many photos were taken. We ended up moving up dinner by about 15 minutes or so, as everything was ahead of schedule and the catering was ready, so why not. So I introduced Audrey and Marc into the room and they did their First Dance on the dance floor, which tonight featured Lonestar's Amazed. From that song we went straight into three songs for some Horra dancing with everyone in the room participating. Lots of fun with that!

The cake cutting immediately followed the Horra and then it was dinner time. Dinner this evening was a Buffet, and was quite delicious. A few speeches followed with Marc doing a Thank You speech on behalf of the couple to end Dinner.

We then began the dancing with Audrey and her Dad doing a dance to Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World.

The Dance floor opened after that with many people joining in quickly and we kept it going like that for the better part of an hour before it started to get a bit quieter. We slowed it down for a couple of songs and re started again with a song dedicated to Audrey's Mom, which brought many back out to the floor. Dancing started to get quiet again and diminished as people started departing for the evening. This was a small crowd and being a Sunday, it made it a bit harder for to keep things going. The party died down and ended around 10pm. Everyone did have a great time regardless and was alot of fun.

Thank You to Audrey and Marc for having me out and many great wishes to the two of you in your future years together. Maybe we will see you guys on another dance floor at some point. All the best!

This past weekend I began my mini residency at The Marshes Golf Club with the first of two Weddings with two great couples.

Saturday was with Melissa and Brenden and was one of those off the wall fun Weddings.

We began out the back of the venue for their Ceremony in the sunshine. The Ceremony went off flawlessly, and boom, they were Married officially.

Cocktails moved back into the venue while photos were being done. Some mingle time for the couple happened at the end of the cocktail period before I introduced them into the room and straight into their First Dance, which today featured Zac Brown Band's Free.

Dinner followed, with several speeches sprinkled throughout including a beautiful dedication of Melissa's Bouquet to her Mom. We also had an impromptu breakout singing of the song Let It Go from Frozen when it was played during dinner. One of many highlights!

We then cut the cake, and proceeded to the Dance Floor to do the Parent dances and then kicked off the dancing portion of the evening, which began very strong and never really wavered except for a couple of short periods through the evening before ending very strong with the last dances of the night. All in all it was a great evening, with lots of enthusiastic dancing throughout.

Thank You Melissa and Brenden for having me out to work this fabulous evening. It was great working with you guys leading up to and including the day of. Wishing the two of you all the best in your future together and maybe we will see you somewhere down the line on a dance floor. Thanks again!

Time to play catch up on a few Weddings!

On Saturday May 23rd Kasie and Laya tied the knot at The Great Hall at Fort Henry and it was quite a good party!

We started the day down by the lake for their Ceremony. It was a very light drizzle off and on through the Ceremony and it was a bit cool, but it didn't really affect the guests or the Ceremony as it all went off perfectly and once done we headed back up to the venue to continue the day.

After a Cocktail period, I introduced the Ladies into the room with them firing off bubble guns at each other, and that led into a photo session with the couple in front of a flower wall with each table while a fun song was playing. We got them all through in quick succession and moved on to begin dinner. Speeches were held through the dinner and at one point we did the cake cutting to change things up a bit. Speeches concluded with Kasie and Laya and we then moved everything to the dance floor for Kasie and Laya's first dance, which tonight featured Mateo Oxley's Love You For A Long Time.

We then called everyone to the dance floor for a group photo, which led to the dance floor beginning with Low by Flo Rida.

Dancing was pretty strong throughout the evening, and went well until the last dance of the night at the pre determined closing time.

In lieu of a bouquet toss, the ladies tossed out a bunch of t-shirts they had printed for their wedding. A fun idea which had guests wearing them for the rest of the evening.

At 9pm, Kasie and Laya planned a perfectly secret performance by a local Elvis impersonator, William "Elvis" Young, who put on a great 30 minute performance and then stuck around a bit to take photos with guests at the flower wall. He has the voice down very well, and does a great performance.

All in all, it was a fun evening and I want to wish Kasie and Laya all the best in their years together. It was an absolute pleasure working with you and I hope to see you both on a dance floor sometime in the future! Thanks again!
