Tagged out!

2 Coho and this makes my 2nd Chinook for the day!
What a day on the water! Came further into Nootka Sound and closer to Moutcha Bay and the temp was close to 35c hence the sun protection.

The Green Hornet & Phat E Herring Aid was killer in this area.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Out fished everyone and everything. I will be showing that from the previous weekend with my buddy Tyler in an upcoming series of posts.

Big Hatchery Coho!

Fishing solo in Nootka Sound and it didn’t take long to hook into this beautiful hatchery coho!

It couldn’t resist the NEW Westcoast Fishing Tackle Gold Herring Aid Electro Mirror Flasher in combination with the Phat-E Gold Spoon

I spent a lot of hours on the water in Nootka Sound this season which contributed to a full freezer of beautiful fresh fish!!

has something for everyone. For me it’s friendly staff, great camping, hot showers, good food and great fishing. This place has it all! Hope sea you out there next year!

Switching up the gear!

Went to the 6” plug to target a larger species of Salmon (Chinook) and it didn’t take long! 5 mins in the water and I had a FISH ON!

Bigger fish like big baits. In this instance it was a 6” plug. Did I get one more Chinook this solo outing?? Guess you’ll have to Sea how I did later that day in an upcoming post.

Does this happen to you??

I check the rod…nothing… then go have a sip of coffee..turn around… and bam! Lines peeling! FISH ON!!

It’s like they know!!!

Second fish of the morning shortly after landing the hatchery Coho this one’s a wild one! Slightly larger and definitely a lot more zip!

What do you think I’ll catch next??

One of my favourite combos!

This season was a first for the Hooch-E

I’ve gotta say the Blue Meanie was my most productive lure this season in combination with the Chrome Herring aid Electro Mirror Flasher on the East side of Vancouver Island.

Heres a nice 78cm slot limit Chinook in the early part of the season.
