🎬📸🎨✨ Meet Zen — not only a Digital Arts instructor at Selkirk College, but also a sculptor!
From film animation to photography, design, and even 3D forms, Zen inspires students to shape their creativity across every medium. His classes are all about experimenting, pushing boundaries, and discovering your own artistic voice.
Congratulations Zen!
The City has installed Song to Mothers by Bonnington-based artist Zen Wang in Lakeside Park, to welcome visitors at the park entrance garden. Depicting a serene mother figure, “the work is a tribute to the nurturing side of the human spirit,” notes Wang. “Mothers are full of hope, love and courage while facing down uncertainty and fear.”
Zen Wang is a Digital Arts Instructor at Selkirk College's School of Arts & Technology in Nelson. Wang, who holds degrees in art and film, comes from a long lineage of Chinese artists, including his grandmother, a celebrated embroiderer, and his grandfather, a sculptor whose tools and books continue to inspire his creative journey.
A Song to Mothers was generously donated to the City's public art collection by Dr. Ken Muth. Another piece included in Dr. Muth's donation, Gigaspider by Ron Simmer, was installed at City Hall earlier this week.
