Saturday was a night to remember as Glasgow Square Theatre hosted the Festival of the Tartans’ Concert Under the Stars, featuring internationally acclaimed Cape Breton group Beòlach playing New Glasgow (surprisingly) for the very first time in the twenty-five years since they officially came together during an impromptu late night Celtic Colours session in 1999.
Beòlach captivated the audience with not just one, but two fiery sets of innovative & exciting arrangements of traditional Cape Breton, Scottish, & Irish tunes, & original songs. Opening for them was Pictou County’s own fiddling sensation Amelia Parker Music, accompanied by Skip Holmes; & the much loved local group Inner Voice.
