🛑 STOP posting signs like these with no context and no plan to actually be back within the specified time frame.

5 minutes from when? (When I was in Italy, I saw them use signs indicating what time they would be back. What a concept!) If it is only 5 minutes they will probably wait but if you half an hour, they will probably wonder when that half hour started.

If you say 15 minutes, it better be 15 minutes because someone might be willing to wait that long, but not the 45 minutes you actually planned on leaving for. If you make them wait longer and STILL aren't back? They may never give you a second chance.

If you also offer online orders, consider indicating that on your sign at the same time!

If you aren't up early, you're missing out!

I have always been an early riser both by nature but also because of the nature of my work (4am wakeups!) Even though I don't have to be up early anymore, I'm still up by 5am to get the most out of my day.

If you’ve been following me for any length of time you know I’m a big fan of pitching media when there’s a good chance they are starved for content (summer, Christmas holidays.) BUT that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pitch the rest of the year!

Fall is a great time to pitch media because much like back-to-school, media is getting back into the swing of things too.

New seasons, new series, new hosts, and new people behind the scenes mean everyone is looking for the next amazing expert or content.

Remember these key things when writing your pitch:
- What’s in it for the listener/viewer/reader?
- Why are you the person to talk to? (What makes you stand out from everyone else in your field?)
Keep your pitch to one page (two pages MAX!)
