Niagara Falls Partially Frozen as Arctic Cold Grips the Region

Niagara Falls — A powerful blast of Arctic air transformed the iconic waterfalls into a dramatic winter spectacle this week, as subfreezing temperatures caused extensive ice buildup along the cliffs and riverbanks.

Images from the scene show thick ice formations surrounding the cascading water, with chunks of floating ice drifting across the Niagara River below.

While the falls themselves never completely freeze due to the immense volume and speed of the water, prolonged cold has created the illusion of a frozen waterfall, drawing large crowds of visitors despite the harsh conditions.
